My mom and her husband just can't seem to understand that my sons are not their children. they are over bearing and unreasonable when it comes to my sons. Over stepping their boundaries is and understatement. It got to the point were I stopped letting my sons go over to their house. Here are my reasons.....1. I found out that My moms husband was taking showers with my sons. (mind you..he is a 60 year old MAN!) I confronted my mom about it and she just could not understand why I did not feel comfortable letting my sons take a shower with a grown man smh!! 2. her husband does not respect that I am my sons mother..meaning don't override me when i discipline my child. Dont confuse my kids and have them thinking they don't have to listen to me. 3. His 18 year old nephew lives with them and there has been a number of times when my mom has caught him in the house with another boy doing sexual things. Just by giving you these three reasons, why do you think I should let my sons go over and spend the night at a household like that????? Lets Talk My husband and I have been married for almost 4 years, we have been together 10 years. Before we got married we talked extensively about having children. We even picked out names. I wanted 3 and he wanted 1, so our compromise was 2. He has recently told me that because of the long hours of his job, he is unsure if he would be a good parent. Because his parents were terrible parents to him, he does not want to have children if he can't be a good dad. .financially, emotionally, etc. Financially we are fine, but because of his long hours he is unsure that he can fulfill the emotional part. He also stated that he does not see where a child would fit into our lifestyle basically we are comfortable and we both have crazy work schedules (I could alter my work schedule if needed). He then came back and told me that he needs to think about it and that he loves me and does not want to lose me. He also stated that while he wants to make me happy, he does not want to agree to something that he is not 100% about. Because I am 29 I do not have time to wait and see if he feels okay about having children. .I am ready to divorce him over this. When I told him this (he already knew in his heart), he was crushed. (Sidenote: Hubby always freaks out over major life changes but then we come together as a team and work things out, we are fine.)
