Storm at The Atlantic Road
The Atlantic Road is a road between the towns of Kristiansund and Molde, at the top of the fjord region in Norway. The Atlantic Road zigzags across low bridges that jut out over the sea. The Hustadvika is an infamous stretch of ocean and when in storm it is truly dramatic. In calmer weather you might spot whales and seals, writes the British newspaper The Guardian. They also described it as one of the best road trips in the world. The Atlantic Road has been awarded the status national tourist route because of the architecture of the road and the bridges, and the incredible coastline it passes through.

Atlanterhavsveien - Atlantic road
Situated in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway, Atlanterhavsveien (lit. The Atlantic Road) is the part of Norwegian national road 64 (Rv 64) that connects the island of Averøy to Vevang, Eide, on the mainland; by extension, the road connects the cities of Kristiansund and Molde. [1] Construction work on the road started on August 1, 1983, with the opening taking place on July 7, 1989. During this period there were no less than 12 hurricane-like storms in the area. The 8.3 km (5 mile) long road is built on several small islands and skerries, and is spanned by eight bridges and several landfills. This road has an open sea view which is not so common for roads along the Norwegian coast, since there are archipelagos that obscures this view. Here the distance between the islands is so small that a road could be built across the archipelago. In addition there are fjords and mountains inside the road. The spectacular road quickly became a popular tourist attraction to the extent that caution must be shown when driving it, as both the local population and visitors frequently use the road to go fishing for cod and other saltwater fish directly from the roadside. Atlanterhavsveien was voted "Norwegian Construction of the Century" on 27 September 2005, and is currently Norway's second most visited scenic road after Trollstigen (also in Møre og Romsdal). Four weeks of riding through the most beautiful places northern Europe has to offer. Northern Europe (Scandinavia and adjoining north-western part of Russia) is a place full of history and interesting places. Vast and sparsely populated landscapes, harsh climate and great nature formed people and culture and make this one of the prime destinations for motorcycle travel in Europe. From the taiga in russian Karelia to Kola Peninsula and Murmansk, through the sparse landscapes of northern Norway between Kirkenes, Hamningberg and the famous Nordkapp. From the northernmost road on continental Europe through finnish and swedish Lapland on to the Lofoten and along the norwegian coast through fjords and mountains. You have to see this place for yourself! If you want to make a similar trip or ride parts of my route, here is what my route looked like: After riding the car train (DB Autozug) from Lörrach to Hamburg, the ferry from Germany (Travemünde) brought me to Helsinki, where I headed east towards the russian border - to Санкт Петербург (Saint-Petersburg). After sightseeing for a day, I headed north on the Magistrale 18 (Кола) through Петрозаводск (Petrozavodsk), Медвежьегорск (Medvezhyegorsk ) and Мончегорск (Monchegorsk) and arrived in Murmansk (Мурманск) a few days later. Next on the plan was riding to Norway (Kirkenes), from where I took two detours to Grense Jakobselv and Hamningberg, before I rode to the Nordkapp. Back south through a bit of finnish Lapland and Sweden <b>...</b>

This is a good match between The Road Warriors and The Headshrinkers. During the time we filmed and edited this, I got to know The Road Warriors and they were the coolest boys on the planet. We I met them at the press confernece, Hawk shook my hand and the piss went to my brain...I'm a big guy myself, 6'5" 280 pounds, believe me, their strength WAS remarkable. After the match Hawk jumped in my car and we went over to Trump's to hang out. To my sentiment, this was the last match of the Road Warriors before the untimely death of Hawk. I talked to Animal as well and he was tore up for a long time. I miss him as well.

Lou Rawls "Tobacco Road"
Louis Allen Rawls (December 1, 1933 January 6, 2006) was an American soul, jazz, and blues singer. He was known for his smooth vocal style: Frank Sinatra once said that Rawls had "the classiest singing and silkiest chops in the singing game". Rawls released more than 70 albums, sold more than 40 million records, appeared as an actor in motion pictures and on television, and voiced-over many cartoons. He had been called "The Funkiest Man Alive". "Tobacco Road" is a song written and first recorded by John D. Loudermilk in 1960 that was a hit for The Nashville Teens in 1964 and has since become a standard across several musical genres. Originally framed as a folk song, "Tobacco Road" was semi-autobiographical tale of growing up in the rough East Durham area of Durham, North Carolina. Released on Columbia Records, it was not a hit for Loudermilk, achieving only minor chart success in Australia. Other artists, however, immediately began recording and performing the song. The confusingly-named English group The Nashville Teens' rendition was a bold effort featuring prominent piano and bass drum parts set against a dual lead vocal; fellow countryman Mickie Most produced it with the same tough-edged-pop feel that he brought to The Animals' hits. "Tobacco Road" was a trans-Atlantic pop hit in 1964, reaching number 6 on the UK singles chart and number 14 on the US singles chart. Atlantic Coast Line E3 #501 @ Spencer "Rail Days" 2005
ACL 501, the lone surviving E3A (of a two-unit order for ACL), is seen over two days pulling trains during the annual North Carolina Transportation Museum's "Rail Days" in 2005. It was by sheer default the famous locomotive, said to have racked up over six million miles running between New York City & Miami in "Champion" service until its retirement in 1970, got out on the road this particular year as advertised N&W equipment was unable to make the event in time. #501 rarely pulls trains, spending most of its time in the roundhouse or on the turntable posing.

Singers like Sam Cooke and Jackie Wilson also did a great deal to pioneer the form, but Charles did even more to devise a new form of black pop by merging '50s R&B with gospel-powered vocals, adding plenty of flavor from contemporary jazz, blues, and (in the '60s) country. Then there was his singing; his style was among the most emotional and easily identifiable of any 20th century performer, up there with the likes of Elvis and Billie Holiday. He was also a superb keyboard player, arranger, and bandleader. The brilliance of his 1950s and '60s work, however, can't obscure the fact that he made few classic tracks after the mid-'60s, though he recorded often and performed until the year before his death. Blind since the age of six (from glaucoma), Charles studied composition and learned many instruments at the St. Augustine School for the Deaf and the Blind.
