Regardless of what type of government be it Democracy or Monarchy and what type of economic system be it Capitalist or Collectivist, it must be consented to by the masses. We can attain a balance between individualism and collectivism without losing our identity, dignity or rights. The surest way for a person to remain a sovereign individual is to bear arms for defense and produce their own food and necessities for living. This minimizes a person's dependence on the government or other external sources. And a whole society doing this cannot be easily usurped or trampled by an invading foreign force or a tyrannical domestic force.
