Lancia ECV - ECV2 Group S Prototype ECV: Experimental Composite Vehicle (Veicolo Sperimentale in Compositi) Nel dicembre 1986 viene presentato al Motor Show di Bologna l'evoluzione della Delta S4: la Lancia ECV. La Federazione Internazionale aveva appena decretato la fine dei Gruppi B, ma le ricerche della Lancia e dell'Abarth proseguivano in vista di un futuribile Gruppo S. L'ECV è un prototipo sperimentale. Esteriormente ricalca un po' la Delta S4, ma "sotto" è cambiato molto. La scocca non è tubolare, bensì in fibra di carbonio e kevlar sotto forma di pannelli. Il motore è completamente di nuova concezione: "Triflux". La testata (sempre di 1759 cc) è a 16 valvole, ma disposte con uno schema incrociato. La sovralimentazione avviene tramite due turbocompressori KKK di tipo K26. La potenza arriva a 600CV a 8000 giri/min, e la coppia sale dai 45 Kgm della Delta S4 a 55 Kgm a 5000 giri/min. La trazione ovviamente integrale. L'evoluzione, ECV2 Dopo due anni viene presentata la ECV2, frutto delle ricerche della Lancia e dell'Abarth e realizzata sempre pensando ad un futuro negli anni Novanta. Sviluppata in collaborazione con Mitsubishi, sarà la seconda offerta della Marca in materia di veicoli elettrici, beneficiando di un incentivo statale fino a 5.000 euro. C-ZERO prevede un motore sincrono a magnete permanente che fornisce 47 kW o 64 cv. Il motore è alimentato con batterie di ultima generazione agli ioni di litio, poste al centro del veicolo, ed è possibile ricaricarle parzialmente senza compromettere la loro durata. Per ricaricare le batterie basta collegare il cavo dalimentazione ad una presa 220 V. Una ricarica completa richiede 6 ore, solo 30 minuti per una ricarica all80%. Grazie alla lunghezza di 3,48 metri e un passo di 2,55m offre 4 posti effettivi, e un bagagliaio di 166 litri di capacità. È incredibilmente silenziosa e propone molteplici equipaggiamenti di confort e sicurezza come servosterzo, ABS, ASR, ESP, vetri elettrici, 6 Airbag, sistema telematico autonomo per chiamate demergenza e climatizzazione. Lautonomia di quasi 130 km e la velocità massima di 130 km/h permettono alla C-ZERO di avventurarsi senza problemi anche fuori città.
