The other advantage of turbocharging is that it generates considerably more low-end torque; the N63 biturbo 4.4 Litre V8 (the base engine from which the S63 is derived) has this advantage over the S85 V10 engine despite having fewer cylinders.[20] While the X5 M and X6 M currently have a 6-speed automatic transmission with Steptronic transmission, a dual clutch transmission will be used on the F10 M5, dropping the Getrag SMG III single-clutch 7-speed semi-automatic transmission used in the previous E60 M5.
