Primo Carnera vs Max Baer

Max Baer made good his boasts when he defeated Primo Carnera, and so became heavyweight boxing champion of the world, at Long Island, New York, last night. After one of the most amazing contests in the history of the ring, he gained the decision in the eleventh round on a technical knockout, the referee intervening after Carnera had been knocked down. Throughout the contest Baer laughed and taunted his rival, whom he knocked down ten times. Carnera damaged his ankle early in the fight.

Max Baer vs Joe Louis - All Rounds !

88000 fans paid out $1000832 to see Max Baer fight Joe Louis in a non-title bout at Yankee Stadium, in the Bronx, NY on September 24, 1935. The history behind the bout is as follows: Max Baer put in 6 weeks of hard training to prepare for his bout with Joe Louis. No nightclubs, no showgirls, no playing to the crowds. He knew his entire career was at stake with this bout. "Whatever happens in this fight," he told Grantland Rice, "just put it down that I'm in the best condition I ever knew in my life. If Louis can whip me now, he can whip me any time I started." He was indeed in superb condition and he sounded confident, but several reporters and even a 'mental expert' noted as the fight date drew near, Baer seemed "brooding" and his "imagination was working on him." In addition, his hands were now giving him trouble constantly. Just after Max's death, his accountant, Bayard Bookman stated that Baer broke his right hand during an exhibition fight three weeks before the fight, but kept it quiet. He was given a shot of Novocain before walking into the ring to fight Louis. When the needle was inserted too near the wrist, instead of controlling pain it deadened his entire right arm. "Max had the intelligence and imagination to know what Louis could do to him, and here he was going in with his main weapon - his only weapon, actually - useless." When the opening bell rang, the two warriors sized each other up, then a nice slugfest at the end of round 1 had the crowd going wild ...
Max Baer vs Tony Galento - Rounds 3-5-8

"The Battle of the Bums" between Max Baer and Tony Galento occurred on July 2, 1940 at Roosevelt Stadium in New Jersey. The events leading up to the bout are as follows: In July of 1939, "Two Ton" Tony Galento made a surprise showing in his bout with Joe Louis at Yankee Stadium. Galento, who fought from a very low crouch managed to feint his way into a position that allowed him to launch left hooks and right crosses at Louis. Word from Louis' training camp prior to the bout was that his trainers were "trying to change his style to meet Galento's barroom tactics" which was deemed a mistake. Louis was staggered in round one and Galento was dropped in the 2nd round (for the first time in his career). Louis was knocked down in the 3rd round, but in the 4th round managed to club Tony "to a bloody pulp, his face so badly mangled that 23 stitches were required to sew it together again, his body beaten to helpless submission, his brain fogged and his legs paralyzed." When Louis declared he needed a rest from defending his title, the heavyweight deck of cards was again shuffled to produce match ups that would entice the public's attendance. Galento met with Lou Nova on September 15, 1939 in "one of the most disgraceful fights staged since the days of the barroom brawls." Perhaps because of Tony's questionable tactics in winning the bout, it was decided he needed one more tune-up fight before again being afforded a rematch with Joe Louis. Galento agreed to a match with Max Baer ...
WeAreChangeLA debriefs CIA Case Officer Robert Baer about apparent Mossad and White House 9/11 foreknowledge

On October 16, 2008, Robert Baer, who was a CIA Case Officer in the Middle East over the course of almost two decades, participated in a discussion at the Hammer Museum entitled "A Third War: The Threat of War with Iran." Dr. Trita Parsi was part of the discussion which was moderated by Ian Masters. Baer was briefly interrupted during the discussion by Jeremy Rothe-Kushel for clarity's sake, after he brought up 9/11 and reaffirmed his recently aired belief that Osama bin Laden is likely dead. That part went something like this- Bob: The chances of Bin Laden being dead are very high. The question is are they going to drag him out in the next two weeks. Is he going to [laughter] out of cold storage and say "we finally got him." I don't know that he's dead, but he probably is. Jeremy: But he didn't do 9/11 though. Bob: Well, let's put it this way, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind... Jeremy: No. Bob: ...said he wasn't working for Bin Laden, so... Jeremy: Did Khalid Sheikh Mohammed put the Mossad assets in New Jersey to film? Bob: ...No he's talking about the famous white van. It's an intriguing story. It deserves a book... ----------- After the event, Baer graciously granted WeAreChangeLA members Stewart Howe and Jeremy Rothe-Kushel an interview in front of the Hammer Museum on Wilshire Boulevard. Although he avoided dealing with the operational aspects of the 9/11 attacks, Mr. Baer appeared to affirm or suggest Israeli Mossad and White House foreknowledge of the ...

Non-Sedated ABR/BAER/OAE Hearing Testing

www.FauquierENT.net - This video demonstrates how non-sedated ABR (auditory brainstem response), BAER (brainstem auditory evoked response), OAE (otoacoustic emission) testing is performed. Traditionally, such testing required being absolutely still and quiet. This often mandated sedation in small children given their lack of cooperation. Non-sedated ABR testing can now be performed without sedation. The patient is even allowed to eat, read, stand, and even walk around without affecting the results. Interview with former CIA agent Robert Baer

Former CIA agent Robert Baer speaks with Kerry OBrien. Mr Baer argues that the United States has Iran wrong and that a long-term détente has to be negotiated that recognises the reality of Irans dominance in the Middle East. ROBERT BAER: ...the United States looks at the Middle East through Israel. And the Arabs and the Persians look at Israel as an outpost of the United States of the West. ...there's financial corruption in Washington. I mean, everywhere you go. I think we've seen that in Iraq with $120 billion which has disappeared of aid money. Money buys votes in Washington.

Former CIA Officer Questions Torture, 9/11

Robert Baer spent 20 years working for the CIA. He was a field officer in the Middle East and has just about seen it all. He says torture is useless and produces nothing but "dribble". So why does the Bush Administration keep torturing people if all it does is produce false confessions? Are we are supposed to believe that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was the Mastermind of 9/11, the JFK Assassination and the sinking of the Titanic because he said so after being water-boarded for two weeks straight? Give me a break. Torture is useless. USELESS.

Max Baer vs King Levinsky - Wild Exhibition !

Max Baer was the Heavyweight Champion of the World at the time of this exhibition bout, having defeated Primo Carnera at the Garden in June. As was customary of the Champ, Max went on a whirlwind tour of America, engaging in exhibition bouts against his sparring partners, virtual unknowns, or fighters often past their prime. December 28, 1934, found him in Chicago, IL for what was supposed to be a 4 round light-hearted romp against his old nemesis, King Levinsky. The King's sister and manager, "Leapin' Lena" Levinsky Levy, had informed her brother, however, that under Illinois law, if King won the exhibition, he would become the Champ. Max came out for the first round with the intent of clowning his way through the bout. A solid Levinsky right to Baer's jaw midway through the round altered his demeanor appreciably. The second and final round would be no royal affair for the King. The audio is quite poor in this film. Crank it up for some savvy observations and historical background by the commentator.
Max Baer in 1938 short "Fisticuffs"

This is a Pete Smith Specialty "2-reeler" or "short" (shorts were shown prior to the main event motion picture) which opened in theatres in 1938. The film showcases Max Baer with his various real life sparring partners in the ring. Slow motion is used to illustrate how Baer uses his skills. Boxers who make an appearance include Hank Hankinson, Al Morro, Mickey MacAvoy, and Jack Roper. An interesting article about the calisthenics Pete Smith went through to produce boxing sound effects follows: Reno Evening Gazette 08.27.1938 HOLLYWOOD, Aug. 27 (AP)—Pete Smith, film narrator, bared the black-and-blue details today of what he sacrificed for auditory realism. Recently Max Baer made a short subject called "Fisticuffs" and yesterday Smith recorded the sound effects. Baer knocked out three opponents, so Smith had to imitate the noise of a variety of blows, followed by yells, groans and ouches. As the film unreeled, he slapped himself vigorously from shoulder to stomach. Some slaps had deep, hollow tones, others were sharply staccato. In all, Smith slapped himself about 200 times. Then a studio nurse applied arnica.

Painting a Day Demonstration - Wolf Eyes by Roberta "Roby" Baer

Painting this wolf was comfortable for me because I have painted many dog portraits over the years. The difference between painting a wolf rather than a dog is the intense eye color and the majesty that a wolf exudes. I have been able to spend some time around wolves and that has given me the ability to see more than just what a photograph can capture. This is the reason why I chose to put most of the focus on the eye in this video. I want to thank my dear friend Kelsey for putting together all of these videos for me. THANK YOU!
