In the morning, the people of Dharampur village are worshipping Lord Ganesha in a temple. The villagers are busy in their daily chores. Madhos three granddaughters Santu & Khemi busy working at home when Monghi comes to give Prasad to them. As she tries to reach Santu, who is making pottery, Monghi falls in the wet mud. Khemi & Santu leave their work & try to move Monghi out of wet mud, but they also fall in. Santu, Monghi & Khemi all are now drenched with wet mud. Monghi somehow moves out of the wet mud & takes a water pipe to sprinkle water at Santu & Khemi. They all enjoy it & later get ready to go to the mela. Monghi promises Manjari, her cow, to get a new cow bell for her form the mela. They ask Madho (nanaji) to accompany them for the mela, but he denies as he has to assort diamonds for Dharamraaj (Maalik). He gives them some money & asks them to get some sweets from a particular shop while returning from mela. They leave for the mela. On their way to the mela, they play & sing & dance. Dharamraaj is a rich diamond merchant of Dharampur & most of the villagers work under him. He is their Maalik. One of his workers steels a diamond & hides it in his mouth. Dharamraaj is aware about it but wants him to confess this. He reveals a fact about diamond to the worker, that if he swallows it, it will affect his nervous system. The worker gets scared & immediately removers the diamond from his mouth. Dharamraaj orders him to leave the village & his job; his family will be <b>...</b>

Mohanbhai tells Madho that the wedding is cancelled. Madho begs & pleads & is even ready to give huge dowry for the wedding. Mohanbhai tells him that even he is unaware of the reason as Mahesh is missing. All the guests are shocked; Madho is shocked which affects his health. Santu is stunned & runs to a corner, Khemi follows her. They both cry & are tensed about Nanaji (Madho) as in such an old age he will not be able to accept this insult. All the guests are talking amongst each other about Mahesh & the effect of the broken marriage in front of so many villagers. Some people suggest searching for Mahesh, but Jagmohan says that they will not be able to find him anywhere. He then reveals to one of his worker, about the entire plan. He reveals that he instigated Mahesh by guaranteeing him a better job, pay & promotion if he joint Virat Sanghvi & cancels the wedding. Jagmohan gets a call from Virat who tells him that Mahesh has reached & also tells him to worsen the situation. In the factory, Dharamraaj sees that the workers are missing. Pinakin tells him that all the workers have gone to attend the wedding. Dharamraaj gets irate & leaves for Madhos place where the wedding is held. In the temple, a worker tells Jagmohan that they should leave for factory to finish the consignment. Jagmmohan instigates them against Dharamraaj & asks them to question him as he was the one to fix Maheshs wedding with Madhos granddaughter. Virat introduces himself to Santu & tells her that he has come to take her along. He pretends that all are waiting for her Grah Pravesh at home. Virat gets a call from Jagmohan but he pretends to talk to someone else. Initially Santu denies going along with Virat, but then Virat insists on taking her along, Santu goes along with him. Jagmohan comes to meet Dharamraaj & congratulates him for the achievement. Dharamraaj tells him that he knows Jagmohan is the culprit & is helping Virat by manipulating things. He tells him to resign or else the workers will kick him out of Dharampur. Pinakin informs Dharamraaj that his parents in law have returned home. Dharamraaj decides not to reveal about his marriage to them. He reaches home & meets his parents in law & elder sister, Tarunaben. His elder sister asks him whether he had been to some wedding of a workers granddaughter. His elder sister dislikes poor & lower caste people & she tells Dharamraaj not get involved much in them. She even informs him that some guests will be staying at Surats guest house next day. Dharamraaj asks Pinakin to shift Santu from the guest house as soon as possible. Pinakin comes to know that Virat took along Santu from the guest house. Dharamraaj tries contacting Virat but he is unable get through. He tells Pinakin to find out where did Virat taken Santu. Hiten warns Santu for being in her limits as she is only Dharamraajs wife & not the mother of his children. Dharamraaj thinks about Hiten, Santu comes to Dharamraaj to give him his marriage album which she found in a cupboard in the store room. Baa & Babuji are also worried about Hiten. Dharamraaj tells Baa not to get worried as he knows where Hiten would be. He calls up Surekha ben, Hitens maternal aunt. Baa asks Surekha about Hitens well being. Dharamraaj tells Surekha that when Hiten is with her, he need not worry about him. He tells Surekha that his only worry is that Virat might create another problem. Dharamraaj & Santu leave for the Award Ceremony. Dharamraaj notices Santus discomfort due to the heavy jewelry. Santu is in pain & due to the heavy earrings worn, her ear bleeds. As they are about to reach the venue, Dharamraaj stops the car & sits behind with Santu. The entire media & all the guests are waiting at the ceremony to welcome Dharamraaj. They reach the ceremony venue where everybody welcomes them; the media imposes various questions on Dharamraaj about his winning awards. Santu gets nervous as he has never faced a huge crowd with their eyes stuck on her. Dharamraaj notices Santu trying to cover the mark of his hands on her arm. He holds her arm so that the mark is covered. Dharamraaj sees Hiten at the function & goes to meet him. He suggests Hiten to stay away from Viraat Sanghvi. Santu meets Hiten & requests him to return home. On seeing Santu, Hiten remembers Kadambari informing her about Santu wearing their mothers clothes & jewelry & gets irate. The ceremony starts & the host addresses Dharamraaj & congratulates him for being awarded. He also congratulates for his wedding. Dharamraajs family & Santus family are watching them live on television. When Santu is addressed & invited on stage to speak about Dharamraaj, she gets tensed. Tarulataben doubts on Santu for stealing a gold earring. She blames Santu & asks her where she has hidden it. Santu tells her that she has returned all the jewelry & has no clue about the missing earring. Tarulataben does not believe her, she believes that Santu must have stolen & hidden them in some secret place. Taulataben looks for the earring everywhere in the room but does not find it. She feels that Santu must have hidden it in her clothes & tells Champakali to remove Santus clothes. Santu begs her for not doing so as she is innocent. But Tarulataben remains adamant. Champakali removes all the clothes of Santu & Santu cries in shame; but the earring is not found. Tarulataben warns Santu that if the earring is not found, the effects on Santu would be more severe. Tarulataben informs Dharamraaj about the lost earring. Dharamraaj tells her that it is her responsibility to take care of Subhadras jewelry so she should find it nay how. Tarulataben comes to know that before reaching home, Dharamraaj & Santu went to Madhos house. She goes at Madhos house midnight to search the lost earring. The villager goes to call Pinakin leaving Santu alone in the house to take care of Dharamraaj. The doctor calls up at Dharamraajs home & instructs Santu to give a particular medicine to Dharamraaj till he reaches there. Santu is uneducated & is unable to make out which medicine she is supposed to give. At the inauguration pooja, Hiten is busy preparing for the pooja but forgets to get sweets. Champakali gives him the sweets which Santu had given without revealing the fact that Santu gave the sweets. The doctor reaches Dharamraajs house. He is stunned to see Dharamraajs deteriorating health to an extent that he cannot take chances of wasting time in taking him to the hospital. He asks Santu the reason for not giving him the medicine. On reaching, he asks Jagmohan to identify the people who attacked him. On doing so, he could get back his job in Dharamraajs factory. In his greed, Jagmohan identifies the people who attacked Dharamraaj. Dharamraaj interrogates them about the person who back stabbed him & they reveal Jagmohan. Dharamraaj beats Jagmohan in front of the entire village. Jagmohan is severely wounded but challenges Dharamraaj saying that he would approach the police for help. But to his dismay nobody present there is ready to give his statement in favor of Jagmohan. Later in Dharamraajs house, everybody is busy in making arrangements to celebrate Holi. Tarulataben gives new clothes & jewelry to Santu for Holi as she has to sit for Pooja with Dharamraaj. Dharamraaj is also getting ready to sit in the pooja. Santu notices Dharamraaj facing problem while wearing his kurta. Santu helps him wear his kurta & Dharamraaj warns her from entering his & Subhadras room. Santu informs him that Tarulataben has given her new clothes & jewelry for Holi pooja. Everybody is ready for the pooja, Dharamraaj feels happy on seeing Hiten. The pooja is about to start & guruji informs Dharamraaj that he will have to sit for the pooja with his wife, Santu. Tarulataben accuses Santu & blames her for being the reason of the problems in their family. She tells her that since the time Dharamraaj has married her, the problems in their house have been aggravating. Hiten informs Surekha & Virat about the blame on him. Virat tells him that he would accompany him for the panchayat meet. The panchayat meet is held & Hiten reaches with Virat & Surekha. Dharamraaj asks Monghi who is the sole witness of the entire incident. Monghi narrates the entire incident that took place & Hiten even admits it. Hiten is about to reveal something in addition to what Monghi narrated but Dharamraaj interrupts him saying that as he has admitted whatever Monghi said, he is proven to be guilty. The villagers present agitate & want to punish Hiten. Dharamraaj asks the villagers to calm down & then declares the decision of the Panchayat. Heavy heartedly he declares that the way Hiten killed the cow with a rope, he too will be hanged till death. All the family members are stunned on hearing this decision. The villagers praise Dharamraaj for a just decision whereas being a father, he was grief stricken.

Dharamraaj notices the bracelet fallen on the ground, he remembers that he only had tightened Mauliks bracelet so that it fits him. He compares the bracelet with the one which the villagers found at the place of incident & is shocked to see that the bracelet found at the place of incident is actually Mauliks. Dharamraaj shows the bracelet to Maulik which leaves in a state of shock. On asking, Maulik reveals that it is Hitens bracelet & he is the one who accidently killed the cow & to conceal the fact he even kidnapped Khemi who was the proof of the entire incident & had stolen Hitens bracelet. Dharamraaj slaps him & tells him that now he will be punished. Hiten interrupts saying that he cannot compare a human beings life to that of a cow & punish him by killing him. Dharamraaj tells him that the decision now lies in the hands of the panchayat. Dharamraaj asks Khemi whether Maulik is the killer to which Khemi agrees. Dharamraaj asks Pinakin to call the panchayat to take the decision there & then. He declares in the panchayat that he mistakenly punished the innocent last time but now he knows who the culprit is. Dharamraaj is shocked to hear & asks everybody to search for him everywhere. Tarulataben informs him that Santu was playing with Sooraj but Santu is unaware about Soorajs whereabouts. Everybody looks for him everywhere in the house but cant find him. Dharamraaj notices some part of t-shirt in the trunk & checks in the trunk. He finds Sooraj lying unconscious in the trunk. They try to get Soorajs consciousness back & Sooraj wakes up. Dharamraaj asks about the trunk being locked & Tarulataben informs that Santu had locked the trunk. Dharamraaj tells Santu to get out of the house even though Santu tells him that she did not do it deliberately & asks for forgiveness. But Traulataben kicks her out of the house. Santu is weeping continuously & asking for forgiveness but Tarulataben is adamant. Meghna & Rasikbhai who are Dharamraajs college friends arrive there & Tarulataben has to make a story for Santu lying on the ground. She informs them that Santu is Dharamraajs wife. Dharamraaj welcomes Meghna & Rasikbhai & asks Tarulataben to get Santu inside. Babuji tells Tarulataben that Meghna & Rasikbhai have come to execute the promise given by Subhadra of getting Kadambari married to Meghnas son. Meghna asks Santu to talk to Kadamabari & find out whether she is willing to marry Duggu or not. Dhaarmraaj gives some new clothes & jewelry to Santu for her to wear till the time Meghna & Rasik would be staying with them. Unknowingly, Santu keeps those clothes in Dharamraajs cupboard where Subhadras belongings were kept. She replaces Subhadras belongings with her own. Dharamraaj sees this & assumes that Santu is trying to take Subhadras place. He gets irate & warns her for that. At Madhos house, Hiten is trying to cope up with the living style of Madho & his family. Meghna insists that Dharamraaj & Santu should break the fast by eating together & sharing their food in a single plate. Santu feels upset due to the fake respect & love she is getting due to the presence of Meghna & Rasik in the house.
