When the group broke up, he remained in the studio to learn the ropes and began to provide remixes for artists, including Madonna, Prince, the Human League, Erasure and Belinda Carlisle. Orbit concurrently recorded his own material under the name Strange Cargo and released three albums during the late '80s and early '90s. He occasionally records as Bass-O-Matic and founded Guerilla and O Records. During 1997, he worked with Madonna as the main producer for her electronica-oriented LP Ray of Light.
