Death March of Bataan (Rejected by US Networks & Japan for its contents)

The film shows re-enactment scenes based on eye-witness accounts of the brutality and atrocities that the enemy inflicted on American and Filipino troops during the Death March and later at Camp O'Donnell and Camp Cabanatuan. The men on Bataan were forgotten by their leaders, in other words, they were expendable. Because of its horror contents, it was rejected by networks in the US and Japan. BATAAN 1943 TRAILER ROBERT TAYLOR WWII

Theatrical trailer for the 1943 MGM World War II classic, BATAAN, starring Robert Taylor, Lloyd Nolan, Thomas Mitchell, Desi Arnaz and Robert Walker. MGM brought the heroic defense and ultimate defeat of US forces in the Phillipines to the screen in this dramtic screenplay that combined historic events with elements borrowed from RKOs 1936 classic, THE LOST PATROL. Despite its inevitable ending, the patriotic film was a box-office smash, but, interestingly, failed to garner a single Academy Award nomination. The Bataan Death March

For the United States, World War II started on December 7th, 1941 with a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. What many don't realize that the Japanese launched simultaneous attacks around the Pacific in near unison. The Philippines, a territory of the United States since 1898, were under the command of General Douglas MacArthur. He was tasked with preparing the islands should Japan attack. As much as he did, Japanese forces quickly overran defenses and US and Filipino armies retreated to the Bataan Peninsula. Here, the combined might of the US and Filipino armies held off the Imperial forces of Japan until April 1942. Once General King surrendered, those that remained alive were forced to march more than 100km in what is known as the Bataan Death March. My Great Uncle was stationed here prior to World War II and survived the march. Join me in this special QiRanger Adventure as Jo and I travel to Bataan. We start off at Mariveles, the sight of the first of two 00km Death March markers and make our way through the peninsula all the way to Tarlac and Camp O'Donnell. -= WEB SITES =- Twitter: twitter.com Facebook: www.facebook.com Blog: qiranger.com The Travel Channel youtube.com The Vlog Channel: youtube.com Podcast: itunes.apple.com Music, fully licensed.

Go to: www.worldwar2treasure.com if you are interested in high adventure and want to participate in recovering World War 2 treasure. Massive looting as an extension of war is nothing new. The Japanese were serious, sober, and deliberate when they methodically and systematically looted thirteen Asian Countries during World War 2. They took treasure including precious diamonds and other gems, gold bullion, and solid gold Buddha's out of every hiding place. Much of this treasure did not make it back to Japan due to a World War 2 naval blockade of the Philippine islands by the United States, and has been recovered recently in underground hiding places. Widespread and systematic looting took place during World War 2 throughout Europe and Asia. For details, go to: www.worldwar2treasure.com

Texas To Bataan

In the 17th of the 24 films in Monogram's "Range Buster" series, Texas ranch owner Conroy (Steve Clark) returns from Washington with an order for horses to be shipped to the Philippines. The Range Busters, Dusty (John King), Davy (David Sharpe) and Alibi (Max Terhune), are selected to take the horses there but, before leaving, they capture three spies who are trying to steal the horses and also learn that the ranch cook, Cookie (Escolastico Baucin), is a Japanese spy, but he manages to escape. In the Philippines, they go to a cafe for dinner and see Cookie and Miller, a German spy. Eavesdropping, they learn that Ken Richards (Frank Ellis), a neighboring Texas rancher, is the Axis contact back in the states. They capture Cookie and break up the spy ring in the Phillipines, and then return to Texas intent on settling matters with Richards. They do so and are honored by the US Government just as the radio blares forth the December 7, 1941 announcement of the Pearl Harbor bombing. They head for the nearest enlistment station.

Ghost of Bataan-Abie Abraham-An American hero. His 98th Birthday party

Some of you may know his name. Most of you will know his deeds. All of you will appreciate his sacrifice. Abie Abraham; survivor, patriot and hero. Author of "Ghost of Bataan Speaks" and "Oh God Where Are You?" celebrated his 98th birthday Sunday, July 31, 2011 at his home. I had the great honor of being personally invited to this event by a mutual friend and Korean war veteran, Andy Kovacs, author of the book "Chosin-Marine-Changjin". Other honorable guests in attendance were "Rocky" Bleier, vietnam war veteran, former Pittsburgh Steeler (American football star), motivational speaker, author of the book "Fighting Back" (www.rockybleier.com) and Lt. Donald Roenigk. Lt. Roenigk recently finished his 4 year commitment to the US Marine Corps with service in Afganistan. Lt. Roenigk, and his family are all friends of mine; in fact this is the second flag presentation which he's been instrumental in providing to our war hero's. I have to say that this was a fantastic celebration of a great guy with good people. I'm sorry the video quality isn't quit what I expected...Maybe my camera is finally "giving up the ghost". Abie Abraham was born in Lyndora, Pa July 31, 1913. He enlisted in the army in 1932. S/Sgt. Abie Abraham was stationed during WWII with the 18th infantry in New York; 3 years with the 14th infantry in Panama, there he was a light-weight boxing champ and trainer; 15th Infantry, unassigned in China; while the USS Panay was sunk, Dec.12, 1937 (usspanay.org), 30th ...

The Story of the Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor - 1/6

"The Filipinos did most of the fighting and most of the dying..." This tells the "true story" behind the "forgotten war" of Bataan and Corregidor -- savage battles that violently hurled falsely reassured Filipinos and an ill-prepared Philippines into the Second World War in the Pacific. Produced by the Department of National Defense of the Philippines and the Philippines Veterans Affairs Office this series of videos documents the outstanding courage, heroism and nobility of Filipinos regardless the inevitable fall of the country to the unrelenting Imperial Japanese military juggernaut. An outcome inevitably irreversible despite the fierce resistance of the mostly Filipino and American defenders as the United States government relegated succor to the loyal but unwarily naive Philippine Commonwealth as secondary to America's commitment to her European allies. This historical account belies many of the myths that have long distorted the realities of Philippine American relations and a must for the serious student of history, geopolitics and military matters. On a lighter yet equally revealing note it also gives a glimpse of pre-war Manila and Philippine society.

Philippines - Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar (Bagac - Bataan)

Videographer's opinion: Jerry Acuzar's hobby turns into a majestic place for Philippine History. Las Casas de Filipinas de Acuzar is located in Bagac Bataan, it is a haven for colonial houses of which are not being taken care of, can be considered as a national heritage park. This place is one of my most must visited place in the Philippines. Such an expensive hobby this is! Sorry for the shaky angles, handheld only, my hands are totally useless, an alternative to Vigan? Maybe.... Dmitrivalencia _____________________________________________ Las Casas de Acuzar started out as a hobby for real estate developer architect Jerry Acuzar who acquired old structures from all over the Philippines and rebuilt these in the new site. Extra effort was made to restore each building to its original glory, and the rain — which was now pouring down in sheets — did not lessen our appreciation of the architecture. General Douglas MacArthur's Constellation Bataan (Part 1 of 4)

Lockheed Model L-749 Constellation. Personal aircraft of General Douglas MacArthur and was used by him during his time as Supreme Commander Allied Powers during the Korean War. He named the aircraft Bataan after a peninsula in the Philippines. Bataan was the last stronghold of MacArthur's American forces defending the islands against the Japanese in 1942. The General flew many notable missions in the Bataan, including his famous meeting with President Truman on Wake Island, and 17 missions over the Korean battlefields. His last flight took him back to San Francisco after he had been fired by Truman for making political statements. The aircraft was thereafter used by his successors, Generals Ridgeway and Clark. Subsequently, the airplane was assigned to the ranking Army General in the Pacific and was based at Hickam AB in Hawaii. It served in this role until its retirement from Air Force service in 1966. At that time, all the C-121As were sent to Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ, for storage. Many were stripped of military equipment and sold to civilian operators, ending up in Canada as fire fighters and bug sprayers. No.613 was luckier and was assigned to NASA for use in conjunction with the Apollo space program. Redesignated as NASA 422, the airplane was refitted with banks of sophisticated computers, tracking equipment, and communications gear used to calibrate the many air and ground based tracking and communications relay stations around the globe used to keep in ...
