I've added some annotations to show the difference between Back EMF and Flyback Voltage. Flyback Voltage is the correct term for the energy coming from the collapsing magnetic field. Back EMF is the term used for the voltage generated by the rotor magnets passing the stator. Only in certain configurations can the Back EMF be used to charge the battery because in a standard configuration the Back EMF's voltage is lower than the charging battery' voltage.

In this video I show the testing of the Crystal Battery that John H released. The Cell was made a little different first the outer shell or case is magnesium inner electrode is oxygen free copper tube. The doping mix was Rochelle salts, Epsom Salt, Selenium. The applied voltage to set the cell was 12 volts for 3 seconds. This cell has been running for 1 and 1/2 days on a computer graph. The load being a SG oscillator circuit, The oscillator can be tuned for current. The cell started at 2 and 1/4 Ma. After one day the cell has stabilized to .765 volts at less then 1Ma. This seems to be the working range of this cell. I will be posting more on this cell as the load continues. The Crystal Star Cell. In this video I'm showing that when the cell is constructed correctly along with the doping the cell just gains energy. However do not look for big currents as the impedance is very high. The cell uses the ambient energy mostly from the infrared range. I also noticed that as the sun changes it's activity the cell corresponds with it. This Bedini monopole was built in 08' if I remember right. Its has 12 coils, 1 is used for trigger the other 11 are power coils. To those who know their Bedini theory please be kind this was a long time ago in my research, so there is a lot of areas of correction needed. The Transistors are tip-3055 from the shack and the coil wire came from 12 identical computer fans that I unwound and rewound around sewing bobbins. The rotor is just a plain ol' Rollerblade bearing with 8 rare earth magnets all north out. The battery that I was charging is a dead one, was trying to bring it back to life. That was the purpose of this video, to prove that the battery was starting to hold a charge again as opposed to it not taking a charge from conventional charger. 18 more coils to go! I have to build a new wheel very soon because the cheapo bearrings from the baby stroller wheels are brutal...and this wheel is becoming a beast already. In the end I guess it will suck 4x as much energy as it does now but it will send most of it back to the charge side. With 6 coils it draws 2.7amps (0.45amps/coil) at 21.5 or so volts....2.7x21.5= 58.08 watts. 58.08x4=232.2 watts estimated total for 24 coils. I will probably use thin gauge HV wire for the generator coils...we'll see...but the more ohms on your generator coils will result in less drag on the wheel...I've noticed this from experimenting in the past year. A Kromrey style seems to be the best for generation. ok i wanted to show 2 things in this video.. u may get by now if you have seen my vids that i like small scale.. its easier to wrap the brain around and easier to have small projects laying all over at hand for study purpose.. one small project is the JT in the beginning. like the Bedini is said to improve plate potential, i made this little JT specifically for charging button cell batteries. it sends out an unloaded 10v and a loaded 10mA into the cells. after letting them charge for a little while they like to rest at around 1.8v or 1.9v. u get a little more usability out of them.. i had to trial and error certain JT's and outputs before i found this to be ideal. sure u could throw a button cell on a regular bedini and juice it back up in seconds but it will be damaging in the long run if they are overcharged. a slow and subtle spiking seems to be liked with these lithiums. i can demonstrate by using a spike-charged battery to run a little bedini. u can see im stretching that there by using the button cell with a 9v charge battery. ok the second thing i wanted to show.. i cant stress it enough, but you can hear the speed of the ring.. its really humming. thats from under 1mA being fed to it. there is a 2200uF capacitor on the gen coils that stays charged to 12v. ive been able to read a FLASH of 10mA or so across a 3v load on the gen coils before lenz drags it all down, thats with the 1.5v 1mA input. this is a situation where if lenz did not occur, there would be a great <b>...</b>

I forgot that I wanted to say that I stuck a screw driver across the cap and shorted it out....it slowed the wheel down about 20% but didn't even come close to stopping. Tomorrow I'm going to put 2 more PMH pickup coils on it in series...then send it through a stepdown transformer (to about 14v) and into a deep cycle 12v battery. I don't expect the wheel to slow down much with that arrangement. Ed said "Ring bell twice, drop below." I believe the bell to be the coil (resonant loop) on the PMH. Ringing it twice I believe means to hit it with both sides of the magnet simultaneously (also like the Kromrey device). If you step the voltage down and then use it there is much less slowing of the wheel....I've tested this in the past. So this means that Ed was a munchkin that spoke in riddles...lol. Oh ya, I'm also going to try driving the Bedini with my PWM w/variable freq. Pulsing the cumulative frequency of the coils together may make all the difference for efficiency and power/torque/speed...could make it sing a little too. There is a vid out there called "Ed's Toolroom," in it you will see mounted to a board on the wall, variable capacitors and large resistors. This tells me that Ed was also playing with the frequency. This is a partial replication of John Bedini's "Earth Light". It is an LED light that uses a simple one transistor circuit. The circuit design uses two chokes (inductors) instead of the standard bifilar toroid design found in the common Joule Thief circuits. I also show a graphite rod and magnesium battery (originally designed by Lasersaber) running my little pulse motor. That battery was too small to run the Earth Light but the design is similar to what John is using. His idea is to bury the battery in the ground and use it to run the light like a solar garden light.

Hooked up a small SSG to 2 x Trojan 6V 420AH Batteries after I rescued them from the side of the road to be destroyed/recycled. Both were dry and after a refilled them and hooked in parallel, they settled on 2.9V and when hooked up SSG, I expected the neon to light due to damaged cells. Did not occur and thus charging continued. The clip taken here was 20hrs after charging cycle began with a new battery that only states 300 CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) and will have to factor that in later on for system efficiency. Initial start up was on only the 100 Ohm base resistance to the transistor due to the only speed the rotor will sustain revolutions for longer duration than 2 mins. The current draw was 120mA at 1550 rpm and not has increased to 200mA draw in the 10hrs since I left it. Future testing will consist of, utilizing my larger SSG with 18 magnets, add my trifilar coil to small SSG seen here and only hook up in series. If voltage peaks on the oscilloscope are larger than parallel connection and is the lowest current draw will swap to series.

This video is a rough demonstration of shorting a generator coil for a brief moment and what to expect. I used a reed by hand switch which is very inaccurate but it demonstrates the theory. There is some drag but it could be a lot less when done properly. I also show that placing an AC cap in series with the generator coil eliminates the drag but produces less voltage. The window motor is running on 12.1v and is drawing 40ma. There are 8 neo's on the rotor and they are N45 strength. The generator coil is 4.1ohms and produces 11.7v AC.
