Foundations (Martha/Ten)

"Foundations" by Kate Nash // Martha/Ten (Doctor Who) This video is about the relationship between Martha and the Tenth Doctor, mainly during the third season of the Doctor Who (bits and pieces of seasons 2 and 4 were used as well). When I started making it, it was going to be a fun video, mostly, showing Ten as if he's this terrible "boyfriend" Martha can't get away from, but the vid kept getting more angsty as it was going. It's not really a bad thing, I guess, just something I wasn't anticipating. Still, there's lots of fun sequences in this. :) And just so you know how ironic things can get at times, I spent months trying to come up with ideas for videos, and nothing. This week alone, I made two. I actually started making this the very same day I finished my Rose/Doctor vid. Funny, huh? Disclaimer: Doctor Who doesn't belong to me, it belongs to the BBC. No copyright infringement is intended here, this is for fun, not profit.

Kate Sessions 24-Hour Alcohol Ban Proposal

Wake Up, Speak Up - The sole action item on the April 7 agenda of the park committee responsible for the governance of Kate Sessions Park was a proposed change to the parks current 12-hour alcohol ban to a 24-hour ban. On August 18, 2009, council district 2 staff member Thyme Curtis, former Northern Division police captain (now chief) Shelley Zimmerman, and Community Parks I deputy director Clay Bingham met with the Friends of Kate Session Park group and a few community residents to discuss their concerns regarding alcohol consumption at the park. During that meeting, it was agreed that there would be a one-year evaluation before considering a 24-hour ban. On January 19, 2010, Friends of Kate Sessions Park submitted a request to the Santa Clara/Pacific Beach Recreation Council to convert the 12-hour ban to a 24-hour ban. Between January and March 2010, there have been six town-council meetings and various committee meetings with board members voting on the issue and making recommendations in favor of the ban. These recommendations were made despite the fact the SDPD has repeatedly indicated that there have been no exceptional enforcement issues, including alcohol, at Kate Sessions Park, with the exception of the July 4, 2010 holiday. Several community members who have attended the meetings stated that the public turnout representing those opposed to the ban has been nominal, due to poor public notification. The meeting was posted in the Pacific Beach Rec Center. Thats how ...

Petticoat Junction: Kate's Recipe for Hot Rhubarb - Season 1, Episode 8 (1963)

thefilmarchive.org DVD: www.amazon.com November 12, 1963 Kate is determined to get her book-loving daughter, Bobbie Jo, to go out on a date. For the first three seasons, Petticoat Junction focused mostly on broad humor and slapstick comedy. There was a lot of physical comedy and other types of wild humor that was characteristic of the series, much like its sister show, The Beverly Hillbillies, and its own later spinoff show Green Acres. There were many crossover appearances in season 3 alone between the casts of both shows. The Douglases (Lisa and Oliver) make frequent appearances on Petticoat Junction, and likewise Kate, Joe, Charley and Floyd, and even Betty Jo and Bobbie Jo show up on Green Acres. But as the series progressed beginning with season 4, with the addition of Mike Minor as Steve Elliot and Meredith MacRae as the third Billie Jo, the show took on an entirely different feel. Although singing had been in a small handful of the earlier episodes, most notably "The Ladybugs" and a few other episodes in which Bobbie Jo, then played by Pat Woodell, did a brief solo, musical numbers and singing became prominent from season 4 onward, and slapstick comedy took a back seat. Many numbers featured the girls singing as a trio, Billie Jo solo, Steve solo, or Steve and Betty Jo as a duet. There were sometimes as much as two or three songs per episode, and physical comedy was less emphasized. The show from this point on often switched gears going back and forth between ...

The Statler Brothers - Do You Remember These

PLEASE NOTE: I divided my uploads between multiple channels, Bookmark this link in your browser for instant access to an index with links to all of John1948's oldies classics. LINK: tinyurl.com Named after a brand of tissues, the four members of the Statler Brothers did not in fact share a fraternal bond; what they did share, however, was the distinction of being one of the most successful vocal harmony groups in the history of country music. Formed in the group's home base of Staunton, VA, in 1955, the Statlers were originally a church trio comprised of bass vocalist Harold Reid (born August 21, 1939), baritone Phil Balsley (August 8, 1939), and tenor Lew DeWitt (March 8, 1938). In 1960, Reid's younger brother Don (born June 5, 1945) signed on to take the lead vocal reins, and the quartet performed gospel music under the name the Kingsmen. After arranging a meeting with the promotional department for a local Johnny Cash concert, the Kingsmen were asked to open the performance. Cash was so impressed that he invited the group to join the tour, and after changing their name to the Statler Brothers, they remained on the road with Cash from 1963 to 1971. The Statlers signed to Columbia Records in 1964 and a year later scored a huge country and pop hit with DeWitt's "Flowers on the Wall," which also lent its name to their 1966 debut album. 1967's The Statler Brothers Sing the Big Hits held true to its title's promise, generating a pair of Top Ten singles in "Ruthless" and "You ...

Slipped Away ♥ -One Shot-

Slipped Away ♥ I miss you. I honestly do. I remember the day I heard the news. I just got home from school back when I was in fourth grade. My parents told me we were going to Gramma's house & I was excited. But while I was getting ready to leave, Mom came into my room. She brought me the news of you. I was sad of course, but not nearly as sad as I am now. I'm so sorry, but I think I honestly shrugged it off while wipping a few tears away. Then the funeral came. Even Aunt Heather, Justin, & Kyla came down, but only Aunt Heather & Justin came to the funeral. I don't remember the beginning of it, but I do remember what happened when they began playing "Photograph". Tears began to form in my eyes & I didn't want anyone to see. I said I had to go to the bathroom; I felt sick to my stomach. I couldn't go back inside the room, it was too much for me. I remember looking through all the pictures on the boards up front. I recognized some, but not many. I was only almost ten while you were 31. I remember going to Allie's birthday party. It began in a limo before we went off to her house. We were listening to the radio in the limo & "Photograph" came on. It was only a little over a month since you left. I hung my head low & tried not to cry. After all, I was in a limo on Allie's tenth birthday party. I remember the last time I saw you. You came over to our house on your 31st birthday, January 9th, 2006. We were laughing; you went to the wrong house. Banging on the poor old woman's ...

James Dean in The Bells of Cockaigne: Gene Lockhart, Vaughn Taylor (1953)

DVD: www.amazon.com thefilmarchive.org James Byron Dean (February 8, 1931 -- September 30, 1955) was an American film actor. He is a cultural icon, best embodied in the title of his most celebrated film, Rebel Without a Cause (1955), in which he starred as troubled Los Angeles teenager Jim Stark. The other two roles that defined his stardom were as loner Cal Trask in East of Eden (1955), and as the surly farmer, Jett Rink, in Giant (1956). Dean's enduring fame and popularity rests on his performances in only these three films, all leading roles. His premature death in a car crash cemented his legendary status. Dean was the first actor to receive a posthumous Academy Award nomination for Best Actor and remains the only actor to have had two posthumous acting nominations. In 1999, the American Film Institute ranked Dean the 18th best male movie star on their AFI's 100 Years...100 Stars list.
