This week we are excited to bring you an interview with a man whom I consider to be one of the most inspirational people working in the area of New Testament studies, Dr. Robert M. Price. Dr. Price is the author of more than a dozen books on religion, including Deconstructing Jesus, The Case Against the Case for Christ, and The Incredible Shrinking Son of Man. He is considered by many to be at the forefront of the Jesus myth hypothesis debate and his upcoming book The Amazing Colossal Apostle takes a look at the historicity of the apostle Paul and his writings. I became acquainted with the works of Dr. Price by watching him explain some of his views in the movie The God Who Wasn't There. Since then I have subscribed to his podcast, 'The Bible Geek' where I have provided some questions for him to answer on the show, read a number of articles in the Journal of Higher Criticism (for which he was the founder and editor), as well as purchased his Pre-Nicene New Testament—an amazing work which uses Dr. Price's own translations and reconstructions of the 27 canonical texts plus 27 others such as The Gospel of Thomas, the Gospel of the Hebrew, and the Apocalypse of Peter, all as he believes they appeared in the pre-Nicene era. In this episode we have Dr. Price on to discuss his views on the Jesus myth, the historicity of Paul, his own path from Baptist minister to atheist New Testament scholar and much more. So stay tuned and be sure to check out his site and pick up some of his ...
