Bill Haley Royal Command Performance

This was one of the highspots of the latter part of Bill Haley's career. Appearing by Royal Command in the 1979 Royal Variety performance in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at London's Theatre Royal. Quite a poignant moment when you consider that Bill's mother came from England. The British audiences always gave Bill warm welcome. Just take a listen to the roar of applause when he takes the stage in the finale.

Essex 381, 1955 played on my new TT. It is a Newcomb TR 1640 M. It has a built in tube preamp as well as an amplifier with outs for an external amp making it convenient to use for recording. Unfortunately it has a serious hum. I'll have to take it in and have it gone through.
