Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer - Bing Crosby & the Andrews Sisters

Update: The sisters are singing apart of the background. I couldn't wait until Christmas to post this up so I'll just post it now!!! The song (from where I got it) says the Andrews Sisters are apart of this recording, but let me ask you a question, does it sound like the Andrews Sisters to you? I think the sisters are singing in background with the other background singers. I'm guessing that Patty (or maybe even Maxene/LaVerne), who is always the joker, is the one who's doing those high voice talking, "I'm rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, I've got a very shiny nose." but it doesn't sound like her talking voice... Will someone help me with the background history of "Bing and the sister's" version of this song? Bing Crosby & Ella Fitzgerald - Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer (Live 1953)

"Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" is a popular Christmas song written by Johnny Marks based on the original story Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer published in 1939 and written by Marks' brother-in-law, Robert L. May. The song was first sung commercially by crooner Harry Brannon on New York city radio in the latter part of 1948, before Gene Autry recorded it formally in 1949, and has since filtered into the popular consciousness.

Sergio Vellatti - Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (Dean Martin Cover)

Ok, here's one that I kept in storage for over a year and had never intended to upload! Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer is a song based on the story of the fictional reindeer with a shiny/glowing red nose. The song was first introduced in 1948 and has become a holiday standard. My all-time favorite version of this song was the one recorded my Dean Martin, which is very same arrangement used for my vocals. I hope you enjoy my take on this holiday classic! Happy Holidays!

Lucia di Lammermoor - Sutherland & Pavarotti (1972)

Here are the great Joan Sutherland and Luciano Pavarotti performing the closing duet from Act I of Donizetti's 1835 masterpiece, Lucia di Lammermoor. The performance, taped live in 1972 from the stage of the Metropolitan Opera as part of a gala concert in honor of the Met's retiring general manager, Sir Rudolph Bing, is introduced by an earlier opera great, Rise Stevens. At the time of this appearance, Miss Sutherland and Mr. Pavarotti were fresh from their joint Met triumphs in yet another Donizetti gem, the comic Daughter of the Regiment. Both singers are in glorious, ringing form.

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer ~ by Anastasia Lee ~ (14 Yr. Old Soprano) ~ Classical Crossover Style

My name is ~Anastasia Lee~, I am 14 years old & Sing Classical Crossover.. ~ Here is the History of this Classic ~ Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer is a reindeer with a glowing red nose. He is popularly known as "Santa's 9th Reindeer" and, when depicted, is the lead reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh on Christmas Eve. The luminosity of his nose is so great that it illuminates the team's path through inclement winter weather. ~ Rudolph first appeared in a 1939 booklet written by Robert L. May and published by Montgomery Ward. ~ The song was first sung commercially by crooner Harry Brannon on New York city radio in early November 1949, before Gene Autry released it on November 25, and has since filtered into the popular consciousness. ~ Autry's version of the song also holds the distinction of being the only number one hit to fall completely off the chart after hitting #1 the week of Christmas 1949. The official date of its #1 status was for the week ending January 7, 1950, making it the first #1 song of the 1950s.[3] Nonetheless, it sold 2.5 million copies the first year, eventually selling a total of 25 million, and it remained the second best-selling record of all time until the 1980s. ~ In 1950, the song was recorded by Bing Crosby. His version reached #6 on Billboard magazine's Best Selling Children's Records chart and number 14 on Billboard's pop singles chart that year.

Charles Brown - Christmas Comes But Once a Year

In the late 1940s a rising demand for blues was driven by an increasing white teenage audience in the South which quickly spread north and west. Blues shouters got the attention, but also greatly influential was what writer Charles Keil dubs "the postwar Texas clean-up movement in blues" led by stylists such as T-Bone Walker, Amos Milburn and Charles Brown. Their singing was lighter, more relaxed and they worked with bands and combos that had saxophone sections and used arrangements
