I got bored trying to fix my laptop today so I distracted myself by learning how to play my favourite song on the ukulele - Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice It's All Right". It's definitely not my finest work, and nothing compared Bob's Freewheelin' version, but I just couldn't help myself! I apologise in advance to any die hard Dylan fans, and the man himself, for any insult I may cause! (ps the laptop is now fixed.. I'm sure you all want to know about that.. a lot.)

Pearl Jam On The Late Show w/ Letterman

Pearl Jam performs Masters Of War live on the late show with David Letterman. Eddie Vedder and company give a chilling rendition of the Bob Dylan Classic. Lyrics: Come you masters of war You that build all the guns You that build the death planes You that build the big bombs You that hide behind walls You that hide behind desks I just want you to know I can see through your masks You that never done nothin' But build to destroy You play with my world Like it's your little toy You put a gun in my hand And you hide from my eyes And you turn and run farther When the fast bullets fly Like Judas of old You lie and deceive A world war can be won You want me to believe But I see through your eyes And I see through your brain Like I see through the water That runs down my drain You fasten the triggers For the others to fire Then you set back and watch When the death count gets higher You hide in your mansion As young people's blood Flows out of their bodies And is buried in the mud You've thrown the worst fear That can ever be hurled Fear to bring children Into the world For threatening my baby Unborn and unnamed You ain't worth the blood That runs in your veins How much do I know To talk out of turn You might say that I'm young You might say I'm unlearned But there's one thing I know Though I'm younger than you Even Jesus would never Forgive what you do Let me ask you one question Is your money that good Will it buy you forgiveness Do you think that it could I think you will ...

Let me know what you think! It's a cover of Bob Dylan's "Boots of Spanish Leather" off The Times They Are A'Changing Lyrics: Oh I'm sailin' away my own true love I'm sailin' away in the morning Is there something I can send you from across the sea From the place that I'll be landing ? No, there's nothin' you can send me, my own true love There's nothin' I wish to be ownin' Just carry yourself back to me unspoiled From across that lonesome ocean. Oh, but I just thought you might want something fine Made of silver or of golden Either from the mountains of Madrid Or from the coast of Barcelona ? Oh, but if I had the stars from the darkest night And the diamonds from the deepest ocean I'd forsake them all for your sweet kiss For that's all I'm wishin' to be ownin'. That I might be gone a long time And it's only that I'm askin' Is there something I can send you to remember me by To make your time more easy passin' ? Oh, how can, how can you ask me again It only brings me sorrow The same thing I want from you today I would want again tomorrow. I got a letter on a lonesome day It was from her ship a-sailin' Saying I don't know when I'll be comin' back again It depends on how I'm a-feelin'. Well, if you, my love, must think that-a-way I'm sure your mind is roamin' I'm sure ...

"'Tomorrow Is a Long Time' is a song written and recorded by Bob Dylan. It first appeared on the Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits Volume II compilation, released in 1971. It was subsequently included in the rare triple LP compilation, Masterpieces....Several versions of this song were released before Dylan's own 1971 release. In 1964, Ian and Sylvia recorded the song, and Hamilton Camp sang and played it on his Paths of Victory album. Odetta included it on her 1965 Odetta Sings Dylan album. In 1966, Elvis Presley recorded the song which appeared as a bonus track on the Spinout movie soundtrack album. Dylan said this was his favorite cover of any of his songs. The song has also been covered by Harry Belafonte, Nickel Creek, Nick Drake, Rod Stewart, Dion, Chris Hillman, Joan Baez, The Kingston Trio, Sandy Denny, Danielle Howle, The Silkie, Rosalie Sorrels, Judy Collins, Dream City Film Club, and The Black Family." Knocking on Heavens Door Bob Dylan COVER by The One Man Band, Marc Dobson

marcdobson.com Amazing cover by The One Man Band, Marc Dobson of an amazing song.... and was that not an egotistical statement. This song has been covered countless times by both celebrity and 'nobody' entertainers. A basic version of the song is not hard to pull off. I really enjoy playing it now because it's at a low tempo. Playing my back pack contraption drums at hi tempo is like jogging, low tempo is a walk Plus is easier to sound like you are playing faster licks on any instrument when playing a slow song. Since this recording I've found ways to show off with my drums, the guitar and harmonica in this song... or well at least I feel like I am showing off.

The trail is dusty And my road it might be rough, But the better roads are waiting And boys it ain't far off. Trails of troubles, Roads of battles, Paths of victory, We shall walk. I walked down by the river, I turned my head up high. I saw that silver linin' That was hangin' in the sky. Trails of troubles, Roads of battles, Paths of victory, We shall walk. The evenin' dusk was rollin', I was walking down the track. There was a one-way wind a-blowin' And it was blowin' at my back. Trails of troubles, Roads of battles, Paths of victory, We shall walk. The gravel road is bumpy, It's a hard road to ride, But there's a clearer road a-waitin' With the cinders on the side. Trails of troubles, Roads of battles, Paths of victory, We shall walk. That evening train was rollin', The hummin' of its wheels, My eyes they saw a better day As I looked across the fields. Trails of troubles, Roads of battles, Paths of victory, We shall walk. The trail is dusty, The road it might be rough, But the good road is a-waitin' And boys it ain't far off. Trails of troubles, Roads of battles, Paths of victory, We shall walk.

Her folks they said our lives together Sure was gonna be rough They never did like Mama's homemade dress Papa's bankbook wasn't big enough. And he was standing on the side of the road Rain falling on his shoes Heading out for the east coast Lord knows he paid some dues getting through Tangled up in blue. She was married when they first met Soon to be divorced He helped her out of a jam, I guess, But he used a little too much force. And they drove that car as far as they could Abandoned it out West Splitting up on a dark sad night Both agreeing it was best. She turned around to look at him As he was walking away Saying over her shoulder, "We'll meet again someday on the avenue," Tangled up in blue. We had a job in Sante Fe Working in an old hotel But he never did like it all that much And one day it just went to hell. So he drifted down to New Orleans lucky not to be destroyed Well he got him a job on a fishing boat Docked outside Delacroix. Paul Weinfield - Visions of Johanna (Bob Dylan Cover).mp4

FROM TAM LIN'S "50 YEARS OF COVERS" PROJECT: (1966) VISIONS OF JOHANNA//Written by Bob Dylan//Performed by Tam Lin//Ain't it just like the night to play tricks when you're tryin' to be so quiet? We sit here stranded, though we're all doin' our best to deny it And Louise holds a handful of rain, temptin' you to defy it Lights flicker from the opposite loft In this room the heat pipes just cough The country music station plays soft But there's nothing, really nothing to turn off Just Louise and her lover so entwined And these visions of Johanna that conquer my mind In the empty lot where the ladies play blindman's bluff with the key chain And the all-night girls they whisper of escapades out on the "D" train We can hear the night watchman click his flashlight Ask himself if it's him or them that's really insane Louise, she's all right, she's just near She's delicate and seems like the mirror But she just makes it all too concise and too clear That Johanna's not here The ghost of 'lectricity howls in the bones of her face Where these visions of Johanna have now taken my place Now, little boy lost, he takes himself so seriously He brags of his misery, he likes to live dangerously And when bringing her name up He speaks of a farewell kiss to me He's sure got a lotta gall to be so useless and all Muttering small talk at the wall while I'm in the hall How can I explain? Oh, it's so hard to get on And these visions of Johanna, they kept me up past the dawn Inside the museums ...

Forever Young - Bob Dylan - cover

"Forever Young" is a composition by Bob Dylan. The song first appeared, in two different versions, on Dylan's 1974 album Planet Waves. It reflects a blessing from a parent to a child - Dylan had just become a father. Covered by many artists including Harry Belafonte, Joan Baez, Johnny Cash, The Pretenders, Dianna Ross , Meat Loaf and Rod Stewart (While ostensibly a different song, the Stewart song actually used the same melody and many of the same lyrics as the Dylan song. Stewart conceded it was the same song by agreeing to share composer royalties with Dylan.) Dave Morrison - I Want You - Bob Dylan Cover

I Want You: Bob Dylan. This is my take on a great Dylan song. I always thought he sort of threw it away, not giving it, in his vocal, the longing and pain I saw in the song. I've sung the song once in a while over the years, and recorded it in my friend, Ron's backyard in West Hills, Ca. I hope you like the way I do it. If so, check out my own stuff. I write and record my own songs, and can be found at www.davemorrisonmusic.com. Here's what wikipedia says about the song: "I Want You" is a 1966 song recorded by Bob Dylan which appeared on the album Blonde on Blonde. It was also released as a single with live version of Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues in June and reached number twenty on the Billboard Hot 100, and appeared on the album Dylan and the Dead, a collaboration with the Grateful Dead. It has been argued that the song is about Anita Pallenberg, at the time the girlfriend of Brian Jones, because of the line "Now your dancing child with his chinese suit/ He spoke to me, I took his flute./ No, I wasn't very cute to him". Brian Jones was known to Dylan and they hung out when Dylan was in London. The relationship was amicable but also tense, ending up in a car chase and car crash (without any casualties) in the middle of the night. Jones used to wear a chinese shirt at the time. Another line states that "time was on his side", perhaps referencing a Rolling Stones song from 1964, called 'Time is On My Side'.

Tangled Up In Blue - Bob Dylan cover

Tangled Up In Blue - Bob Dylan cover with my new Taylor 654CE 12 string ;oD this is one of my favorites from blood on the tracks. when i discovered that every song on the album was in open D and open E tuning i decided to relearn every song...very edifying :o) Eric Clapton once said about Dylan: "His way of playing anything is totally hybrid. It doesn't make sense musically to the scholar. [...] At first listening, everything he does is just real hopeless. Then you look back and realise it's exactly right." As a scholar I take this as a challenge: If something is "exactly right", but still doesn't make sense to the scholar, it is either the scholar's sense or the scholar's analytical tools that are inadequate. I take the liberty of disregarding the first possibility -- although that is probably the commonest cause for scholarly not-being-made-sense-to-ness -- and concentrate on the second: the problems inherent in musical analysis of music of Dylan's kind. Blood on the Tracks is singer-songwriter Bob Dylan's 15th studio album, released in 1975 by Columbia Records, which marked Dylan's return to Columbia after a two-album stint with Asylum Records. The album, which followed several years of lukewarm reception for Dylan's work, was greeted respectably by fans and critics. In the years following its release, it has come to be regarded as one of his very best albums - making it quite common for subsequent records to be labeled his "best since Blood on the Tracks."[1] [2] [3 ...

I Shall Be Released (Bob Dylan cover) by West&Coast Band

"I Shall Be Released" is a 1967 song written by Bob Dylan. The Band played it on their debut album, Music from Big Pink (1968), with Richard Manuel singing lead vocals, and Rick Danko and Levon Helm harmonizing in the chorus. A legendary performance of the song was performed near the end of The Band's farewell concert, The Last Waltz, in which all the night's performers (with the exception of Muddy Waters) plus Ringo Starr and Ronnie Wood graced the same stage. Bob Dylan recorded two primary versions. The first is the Basement Tapes initial recording, recorded in 1967 and released on Bootleg Series 1-3 in 1991. Dylan recorded the song a second time in 1971, releasing this new recording on Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits Vol. II. In this video West&Coast Band performed the beautiful cover version by Chrissie Hynde. This video has been recorded live at SoundLab Studio in Ancona (Italy).
