The Tragically Hip - Bobcaygeon

The third single from the album "Phantom Power" from 1998. One of the greatest songs of all time and one of my favourite top ten Tragically Hip songs, it even won a Juno in the category "Single Of The Year" in 2000.

Ontario Travel: Lindsay, Fenelon Falls, Bobcaygeon

One of my favourite getaway regions from Toronto is the Kawartha Lakes area -- it's just a gorgeous region with tons of pristine blue lakes and rivers, green forests, fertile agricultural fields and rugged Canadian Shield rocks. On July 30, 2010 I set off with a friend for a day of explorations from Toronto and within less than an hour and half I had arrived at my first stop: downtown Lindsay. I had never been to Lindsay, a country town with a population of about 33000 residents, but the minute we parked our car on Kent Street, the town's main artery, I was impressed by the attractive townscape that surrounded us. Wide sidewalks, attractive stores with a wide assortment of merchandise, street cafes and restaurants were all nestled along the widest Main Street in Ontario. From here we headed out into the rolling farmlands north of Lindsay and caught occasional glimpses of Sturgeon Lake glistening to our right. We stopped briefly in the small village of Coboconk which is located at the northern tip of Balsam Lake, the highest point on the Trent-Severn Waterway, a 386 kilometre canal system connects Lake Ontario with Georgian Bay and features 44 locks. From Coboconk we drove south to Fenelon Falls, a picturesque village between Sturgeon Lake and Cameron Lake, home to lock 34 of the Trent-Severn Waterway. Dozens of travelers were watching the operation of the liftlock as recreational boats and even the Spirit of the Kawarthas, a large sightseeing boat, got lifted up by the ...

Not perfect, but this is my and my boyfriends song. Recorded this for our 10 month anniversary. Love you Dave. It was in Bobcaygeon where I saw the constellations reveal themselves one star at a time Note: Changed the lyrics around, as it's a guy singing so I made it to suit us/the story behind it. Thanks for watching:) I'm also aware that this is nowhere near perfect lol

Summer is a really beautiful time in Ontario. I decided to show my European guests a little bit of Ontarios country charm, so we planned an overnight getaway for July 30 and 31, 2008. Just after lunch on July 30, 2008 we started driving east of the city to the charming country town of Port Hope, just about 100 km east of Toronto. Port Hope is a pretty little town of about 16000, located at the mouth of the Ganaraska River that is a favourite destination of salmon fishermen in the fall. I was there probably 7 or 8 years ago and since then Port Hope has been spruced up considerably. Many new restaurants and boutiques have been opened, and Port Hope has become a favourite getaway destination for city-weary Torontonians. From here we continued on to Cobourg, another attractive country town just about 10 minutes east of Port Hope. With about 18000 residents, Cobourg, Ontarios Feel Good Town, is slightly larger which makes it the largest town in Northumberland County. It features stunning Victoria Hall, a classical building dating back to the 1850s that now houses the municipal offices as well as a concert hall and art gallery. The main street features many cute shops and boutiques. From here we walked towards the waterfront and stopped at the King George Inn, a historic hotel that actually used to be the Cobourg Jail until about 10 years ago. In the basement you can still see various jail cells in their original state. Last but not least we strolled to the waterfront where we ...

Bobcaygeon - The Tragically Hip

Once me and a friend spent their entire vacation on going to Hip concerts. Actualy it were 4 concerts in Boston at the same cafe for i think about 500 people. We flew to Toronto, rented a car and drove to Boston. Tried to get tickets........sold out!!!!!!! On the night of the first show i ran into Johney Fay and he put us on the guestlist!!!! saved by the bell. Great shows at the time Phantom Power was just released. When we got back to Canada we drove up to Bobcaygeon to see what it was about......not much realy but still a great song. This is my version on acoustic guitar. Please rate and leave some comments.
