Miracle crash landing: All survive as Boeing-737 breaks in half in Guyana

Follow us on twitter.com and www.facebook.com Flight 523 from New York had just touched down and passengers were applauding the pilot's landing in Guyana on Saturday when something suddenly went wrong. The Boeing 737-800 slid off the end of a rainy runway, crashed through a chain-link fence and broke in half just short of a 200-foot (60-metre) ravine that could have resulted in dozens of fatalities. Yet all 163 people on board survived. More than 30 people were taken to hospital but only three of those had to be admitted for a broken leg, bumps, cuts and bruises.

Boeing 767-260ER Crash Ethiopian

This Boeing 767-260ER belonging to Ethiopian Airlines was en route from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to Nairobi, Kenya, on November 23rd 1996. 172 passengers and crew were onboard. The plane was hijacked by three Ethiopians seeking political asylum in Australia, and asking the crew to fly to Australia. The pilot explained they had only taken on the fuel needed for the scheduled flight and thus could not even make a quarter of the journey, but the hijackers did not believe him. The pilot secretly headed for the Comoro Islands, which lie midway between Madagascar and the African mainland. The plane eventually ran out of fuel. A fight with the hijackers prevented the crew to land on Comores aiport. The pilot tried to ditch the aircraft in shallow waters 500 metres off the coast. The plane left engine and wingtip struck the water first. The left engine then struck a coral reef, slowing that side of the aircraft quickly, causing the Boeing 767 to violently spin left and break apart. 122 of the 172 people on board were killed, along with the hijackers. The other 50 survived with injuries.

Stricken LOT Polish Airlines Boeing 767 crash-lands at Warsaw's international airport

WARSAW, Poland — A Boeing 767 from Newark carrying 230 passengers made an emergency landing in Warsaw after its landing gear failed to open. Leszek Chorzewski, the spokesman for LOT, the Polish airline that operated the flight, said none of the passengers was injured. "All safety procedures worked perfectly fine and, thanks to this, nobody was injured," Chorzewski said. Live television footage showed the plane landing on its belly, with a few sparks flying as the craft hit the runway which had been covered with flame retardant foam. There was no blaze but firefighters hosed the plane with water and foam as a precautionary measure. Passengers could be seen fleeing the plane.

BOEING 747 CRASH CVR COCKPIT VOICE ROCORDING CFIT BLACK BOX RECORDING

On February 19, 1989, a Boeing 747-249F operating as Flying Tiger Flight 66 was flying an international cargo flight from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The aircraft impacted terrain 12 miles from the airport, resulting in 4 fatalities. The aircraft was assigned an non-directional beacon (NDB) approach to Runway 33 at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Kuala Lumpur, after having flown 30 minutes from Singapore Changi Airport.[1] In descent, the flight was cleared to "Kayell" with a morse code of "KL" of which four separate points on the ground were commonly called by Malaysian ATC albeit with different frequencies. Two separate radio beacons were identically coded "KL" as well as the VOR abbreviation (Kuala Lumpur shortened to "KL") and the airport was also sometimes referred to as "KL" by local ATC (instead of the full "Kuala Lumpur"). The crew was unsure to which point they were cleared, and the cockpit voice recorder revealed that the crew argued about which radios should be set to which frequencies and which approach was actually going to be conducted. (Even in the last few moments of the flight, the captain referenced the ILS approach for runway 33 which was notamed as inop on the flight release and the ATIS, additionally the crew was told by ATC that the ILS approach was not available.) ATC radioed to the flight, "Tiger 66, descend two four zero zero [2400 ft]. Cleared for NDB approach runway three three." The captain of Tiger 66, who heard "descend to four zero ...

9/11 Flight 93 Crash Scene Investigators Cannot Find A Large Boeing 757

Very rare local news raw video of the 'Flight 93 crash scene' investigation and evidence collection operations in Shanksville. Thanks to pumpitout.com. No plane here, gentlemen, lets pack it up and get out of these yellow suits ...... The key evidence that the official story of Flight 93 is a complete lie is the missing Boeing 757 at the "crash site" in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. A Boeing 757-200 weighs +120000 lbs (+54000 kg) empty, has a length of 155 ft 3 in (47.3 m), wingspan of 124 ft 10 in (38 m) and a tail height of 44 ft 6 in (13.6 m). All of the eyewitnesses to the crash scene, which included firemen, were amazed that there was no evidence of the plane. There was a lot of small debris and paper, but 120000 lbs of aircraft apparently disappeared. According to the official story, the one-time open pit mine had been filled with soft dirt which "liquefied" when the plane hit. The entire plane buried itself deeply in the ground. However, note the imprint of the tail. It is not very deep and there is no evidence of any debris from the tail. The second key piece of evidence is the shape of the impact crater, or the crash imprint. The official story is that the 757 was at an extremely low altitude (less than 500 feet or 150 meters), the plane rolled onto its back and crashed at +500 mph (800 kmh). The crash imprint shows a vertical, or nearly vertical, impact. It is impossible for a 757 to change from horizontal flight a to vertical dive within a few hundred vertical ...

FedEx Flight 647 Boeing MD-10-10F (MD-10) Aircraft N364FE Crash On Landing - NTSB

AviationExplorer.com - FedEx Flight 647 a Boeing MD-10-10F (MD-10) aircraft N364FE, was a flight between Oakland California and Memphis Tennessee that crashed during landing on December 18, 2003. The flight touched down and almost immediately the right landing gear collapsed. The plane veered off the right side of the runway, catching fire. The NTSB found that although the aircraft had encountered a crosswind during landing, the conditions were well within the safe capabilities of the aircraft. However, it was discovered that the first officer did not properly line up the plane before touchdown, nor did she slow the plane enough before touchdown, so that the plane came down excessively hard. As the plane came down, due to the crosswind, the right wing suddenly lowered approximately six degrees. This was beyond the design capabilities for the right main landing gear, and it snapped as a result.

TWA Trans World Boeing 747 Flight 800 Aircraft Crash Into Ocean ATC FAA Audio File Slideshow

AviationExplorer.com - Trans World Airlines Flight 800 (TWA 800), a Boeing 747-131, exploded and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean near East Moriches, New York, on July 17, 1996, 12 minutes after takeoff, killing all 230 persons on board. TWA 800 was a scheduled international passenger flight from New York to Rome, with a stopover in Paris. While accident investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) traveled to the scene, arriving the following morning, there was much initial speculation that a terrorist attack was the cause of the crash. Consequently, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) initiated a parallel criminal investigation. Sixteen months later the FBI announced that no evidence had been found of a criminal act and closed its active investigation. The four-year NTSB investigation concluded with the approval of the Aircraft Accident Report on August 23, 2000, ending the most extensive, complex, and costly air disaster investigation in United States history. The report's conclusion was that the probable cause of the accident was an explosion of flammable fuel vapors in a fuel tank, and, although it could not be determined with certainty, the most likely cause of the explosion was a short circuit. As a result of the investigation, new requirements were developed for aircraft to prevent future fuel tank explosions. Many TWA Flight 800 alternative theories exist, the most prevalent being that a missile strike from a terrorist or US Navy vessel ...

AviationExplorer.com - Pacific Southwest Airlines (PSA) Flight 182, registration N533PS, was a Boeing 727-214 commercial airliner that collided with a private Cessna 172 over San Diego, California on September 25, 1978. Pacific Southwest Airlines' first accident involving fatalities, the death toll of 144 makes it the deadliest aircraft disaster in California history. It was also the deadliest plane crash in the history of the United States until American Airlines Flight 191 went down eight months later. The Boeing and Cessna crashed into North Park, a San Diego neighborhood, killing all 135 on board, the two men aboard the Cessna, and seven people on the ground, including two children. Nine others on the ground were injured and 22 homes were destroyed or damaged. The midair collision contributed to San Diego's Lindbergh Field airport being ranked 10th among the world's Most Extreme Airports in a two-hour documentary of the same name released in July 2010, which aired in the US on the History Channel. The PSA 182 accident caused the revision of air traffic rules applicable to the busiest airports across the US, with the intention of improving separation of aircraft operating in the vicinity of large airports.
