Boot Hill (or Boothill) is the name for any number of cemeteries, chiefly in the American West. During the 19th century it was a common name for the burial grounds of gunfighters, or those who "died with their boots on" (ie, violently). Also, Boot Hill graves were made for people who died in a strange town without assets for a funeral, known more formally as paupers' gravesThe most notable use of the name Boot Hill is at the Boothill Graveyard (or Cemetery) in Tombstone, Arizona. 31°43′11.6″N 110°04′13.6″W / 31.719889°N 110.070444°W / 31.719889; -110.070444 (Boothill Graveyard) Formerly called City Cemetery, the plot features the graves of Billy Clanton, Frank McLaury and Tom McLaury; the three men killed during the famed Gunfight at the OK Corral. Currently the Boothill Graveyard is open to the public and a popular stop for tourists visiting Tombstone. Located on the northwest corner of the town, the graveyard is believed to hold over 300 persons, 205 of which are recorded. This was due to many Chinese and Jewish immigrants being buried without record.

I do not own the copyright to this recording. This video is for historical and educational purposes Nobody knows who Sly Williams was. The authors of "Blues Records 1943-1970" Mike Leadbitter, Leslie Fancourt & Paul Pelletier stated that the artist was aurally similar to Clarence Samuels. However, Clarence Samuels was a blues/jazz/ R&B sax player, popular in the 1940's and 50's. He was later believed to have disappeared from public view in New Orleans, after getting beaten up one night and having his saxophone smashed in either New Orleans or Baton Rouge, La. (sources vary upon the story). "Boot Hill" was later covered by Johnny Winter on his 1984 album "Guitar Slinger" It was also covered by Stevie Ray Vaughan and his version is on the 1991 posthumous compilation album "The Sky Is Crying". Recording location and year of recording is unknown regarding this version. Sly Williams:Vocals and possible guitar. All other musicians unknown. Playing Boot Hill on a Chandler LectraSlide with 0.012 gauge strings. I could not sing this at all in Eb (not that it's much better now), so I had to tune it up to F# (ie standard tuning except the root is F#. Also, the 3rd string is tuned up a half step the same way SRV did on this song).

Tombstone's post office was established December 2, 1878 and has yet to be discontinued. Tombstone is the most famous of Arizona mining camps with its colorful history. Discovered by Ed Schieffelin in 1878, the mine went on to produce millions. Tombstone had over 15000 residents at one time. Fires nearly caused the death of Tombstone twice but the town was resilient. It is famous for the OK Corral shootout with the Earps and Boot Hill cemetery.

Helmet cam video of me in the 6Volt Limited Modified at Boothill Speedway on 2/7/09. I started 7th. The reason that i pull off about a third of the way through the video while running 5th is that my arm restraint caught the shifter putting the car in reverse when I reached for the brake bias which you can hear. I thought my race was over until I saw the 22 car blow a motor and I was able to roll back out and restart in the back. I was able to crawl back to the 5th spot by race end.
