This was our local fursuiting group Anthropaws's third straight year at the wonderful Bothell Riverfest event in Bothell, Washington. We had a great crew of eight suits and many handlers out on what was a beautiful day to romp around a festival. As usual all the kids and families in attendance loved the characters and we were able to create tons of smiles and spread some good-natured furry cheer which is what public character performance is all about. One of the great things about walking around downtown Bothell is the number of props to mess around with, from hand-painted wood carvings that look like people to rocks that have very furry-looking plaques on them. We put quite a few smiles on people's faces that afternoon and got more than a few quizzical looks and car horns alike but it was great to spread some furry cheer on what was a fairly gloomy and rainy day. Kijani Lion and Redclaw the Otter making an appearance at the ninth-annual RiverFest street fair in Bothell, WA which was celebrating its big centennial (1909-2009). I decided to organize this outing only the day before and I'm glad I did - RiverFest was a GREAT venue to suit! Tons of kids and events going on from live music to car shows to vendors, to inflatable bouncy things. One of the most rewarding and fun outings I've ever done in fursuit, we put so many smiles on kids faces that day! At the last minute I decided to buy a huge bag of candy to give out... I found that instantly makes you a "kid magnet" but it was totally worth it. Every time we go suiting in downtown Bothell we've gotten an amazing reception and today was no exception - perfect weather, huge turnout and one heck of a community party! Also features a Safeway raid in fursuit at the end of part 2 that somehow avoided the wrath of security. Video by Ithabise... wasn't quite feeling up to suiting today but did a bang-up job with the camera, and ChaosReign for being our still photographer and handler. Last year was so much fun, we had to do this again! Bothell's annual Safe Halloween Trick or Treating on Main Street got another heavy dose of fur, as Reo Fox, Wah (the unnamed red panda), Dolphin Echo and Odakota gave out 12 pounds of candy to kids of all ages while bringing furry cheer as only they can.
