What You'll Need --------------------------------------------------------------------- * Hot rollers * Wide-tooth comb * Closed-end bobby pins * Open-end bobby pins * Curling iron * Lightweight to medium hairspray * Small sectioning comb Step 1: Prep Your Hair --------------------------------------------------------------------- Set your hair in hot rollers. Once your hair has cooled, remove the curlers and run your fingers through your hair to loosen the curls. You can also run a wide-tooth comb through it for more volume. Step 2: Section and Tease --------------------------------------------------------------------- Separate a section of hair near the top of your head and clip the top portion of it so that it is out of the way. Tease the underneath portion of it by taking a small section and running your comb up from the base in short, firm strokes. Step 3: Tease the Sides --------------------------------------------------------------------- When you tease the sides, take a section on the diagonal away from the front of your head and tease in the direction that you want the hair to go. Usually, that means teasing towards the back of the head. Make sure you save a small section around the frame of your face so that you can pull it back over the teased portion to conceal it. There are many ways to create the "Bouffant" (hair piled high on the head and hanging down on the sides), but this is the simple old-fashioned way!
