We recently reported that Universal canceled Dark Tower and now its looking like Ron Howard and Brian Grazer are searching for other ways to get the project distributed. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Producer Grazer told the New York Post's Page Six that it will have to be put off until at least next year, but that director Howard is "trying to get outside financing to make it, and distribute it through a major [studio]." Despite not having any solid distribution plans, the project is certain on one thing...Javier Bardem WILL star as gunslinger Roland Deschain. As we get more details on dark tower, we will be sure to keep you posted! The Friday Night Lights series' executive producer Peter Berg confirmed that a movie version/sequel to his critically acclaimed NBC/DirecTV drama which JUST ended its five-season run, is in active development! The scropt is currently being written and Berg recently said, "We're very serious about trying to do it....with a goal of going into production next year" The project would be produced by Universal Pictures -- the studio behind the original 2004 movie starring Billy Bob Thornton -- and Imagine, with Brian Grazer will produce. And while the cast roster has not been totally filled out just yet, we do know that it would feature the cast of the series led by Emmy nominees Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton. Whos pumped?
