It's that time of the season again. Christmas, Silent Night, Noel, New Year, Boxing Day, Hanukah. Seasons Greetings. Bright Nights 2010 at Stanley Park is entering the 13th season from Nov. 26, 2010 - January 02, 2011. The world famous urban park in downtown Vancouver is once again adorned with Christmas-themed décor—reindeers, Santa, ginger-bread houses, nutcrackers, presents, Christmas lights etc. The miniature train is transformed into the Bright Nights train ride through a Winter Wonderful with a rainbow of colored lights illuminating the surrounding forest. Away in a manger, no crib for His bed... Choirs will be singing your favorite X'mas hymns and plenty of family fun and entertainment. In Bright Night, the neighbor animal put lights on their houses and the mayor will be outside town hall to judge them. You can choose who can win too, i think? You ask Tortimer what you think of lights and he will ask you which animal has the best light, they all look same but i pick the lights with my favorite animal.

Get in the spirit of the Holidays - take a train ride through our forest transformed with two million twinkling lights, see the animated displays and listen to holiday sounds as you enjoy hot chocolate, fresh popcorn and roasted chestnuts. All donations collected at the event, and partial proceeds from the sale of tickets for the train, go to the Burn Fund to help burn survivors and their families. As Bright Nights is one of its major fundraisers, the Burn Fund accepts donations at the front gate and suggests a minimum donation of $2. Bright Nights has raised over $1.5 million for the Burn Fund. This achievement is supported by more than 500 off-duty professional fire fighters from the Lower Mainland and around BC who donate their time to set up, operate and take down the annual display.

Every December the Stanley Park train is transformed into a magical winter wonderland. Here's a video I shot of the entire train ride, taken from the very back of the train. This is the raw video and, as such, the music you hear is exactly what was heard on the train. I highly, highly recommend getting on-board this train every year.
