In the interview she discusses Markova, a bit mockingly but also lovingly, I think. She also discussed doing 'recitals' when she was in her early teens before she was asked to dance in the BR. In the BR documentary, you can see an excerpt of Thielade's dancing in this film as the fairy handmaiden of Titania. Her arms and hands, not mention her face, are exquisite.

Paul Maure has danced leading roles with the Grand Ballet de Monte Carlo, the Marquis de Cuevas Ballet, Pacifica Ballet of Laguna Beach and with Santa Monica Civic Ballet, among others. He has worked with some of the greatest choreographers in the world, including: Leonide Massine, George Balanchine, David Lichine, Bronislava Nijinska, Maurice Bejart, Paul Goube, Nicolas Svereff, Gustave Ricaux, Harold Lander and Serge Lifar. He has partnered with renowned ballerinas like: Lycette Darsonval of the Paris Opera, Cynthia Gregory, Janine Charrat, Josette Clavier and Ludmilla Tcherina, to name a few. Born in Marseille, France, Maure has taught ballet for the Centre de Danse in Salle Pleyel Paris, France, University of California in Riverside, Ballet Pacifica in Laguna Beach, Los Angeles Dance Center, Ambassador College in Pasadena and Le Lycee Français de Los Angeles, among others. Maure has also choreographed for the television shows, Fantasy Island and Columbo. He was recently one of the dancers honored in Media City Ballet's production of Men of the Ballet Russe.

A pupil of Bronislava Nijinska, Serge Lifar was the last important permier danseur of the Ballets Russes of Serge de Diaghilev. He joined the company in 1923 and worked with Enrico Cecchetti in Milan to improve a not at the time formidable technique. For the Diaghilev company, he created leading roles in Leonide Massine's 'Zephyr et Flore' (1925), 'La Chatte' (1927) and in George Balanchine's 'Barabau' (1925). 'Apollon Musagete' (1928) and 'Le Fils Prodigue' (1929). Lifar later worked in Paris, most notably creating the title role in 'Icare', and performing Albrecht in 'Giselle'. He also worked as a choreographer and teacher. The footage shows Lifar in this latter phase of his life. Firstly, the dancer is seen in close-up, writing a document of some sort. Then in conversation with French writer and philosopher Jean Cocteau. After that he is filmed teaching a young ballerina, and then refining a pas de deux with two dancers. Finally, Lifar coaches a male dancer in the title role of 'Icare'. What's interesting about this last section of the footage is that Lifar demonstrates some of the porte de bras for the role - particularly where Icare dons his wire and gossamer wings.
