Playing card 'building' breaks world record

Bryan Berg has broken his own Guinness World Record for the largest house of free-standing playing cards. His building is a replica of the Venetian Macao hotel in China's gambling hub. The structure took 218792 individual playing cards and 44 days to make.

Cardstacking a 20 foot Card Tower

All cards are freestanding - no tape, glue, bending or folding. This project was built to launch my new YouTube channel - cardstackers - which will be dedicated solely to new cardstacking projects. With almost 4000 decks, I have plans for many big projects over the next few months. I have a book full of sketches and plans for at least 30 projects. Please subscribe if you would like to be notified of new videos as they are posted. I spent about 40 hours on this tower and it used about 29000 cards. It took 2 people 1.5 hours to clean up (3 man hours). By the way, the current world record for tallest free-standing house of cards stands at 7.86 m (25 feet 9 7/16 inches) and was built by Bryan Berg on October 16, 2007 in Dallas, Texas. Yes, I know I was only 5 feet short of the record, but I never intended for this tower to be a record breaker. Special thanks to: Joe DiGennaro - Cinematography and Video Transfer Joan Wai - Still Photography and Clean-Up

Lexus ES Ad - "Cards" Behind the Scenes

To show how the vibration-reducing features of the ES create one of the smoothest vehicles anywhere, Lexus wanted to put the ES in the most fragile and unstable environment imaginable. So going a few steps beyond the proverbial house of cards, they set out to build an entire city around and on top of the vehicle. If you want to create an enormous house of cards, there's only one guy to turn to—Bryan Berg. A self-taught artist, Bryan has been stacking cards since he was eight years old. He set his first Guinness World record when he was 17, with a tower measuring 14 feet, six inches tall. He has since set six more world records; his current record-holding structure towered over 25 feet. www.lexus.com
