This shows how little force is required to get a clacking sound from the black keys on the CME UF80 midi master keyboard. I'm holding A5 with finger #5 while playing Ab5 using finger #4 (the weakest finger). Velocity value can be as low as 42 when the clacking noise starts. As a comparison, listen to the soft sound when I hit Gb5, even when using finger #3 and much more force. I've tested CME UF8 and that keyboard had the same problem. This keyboard has been returned to the dealer.

It's time to admit that we're not living in the past anymore and CME's VX series is now the closest thing we have to a keyboard with motorized faders. That's because it is one . . . and a whole lot more. It's also a control freak's wet dream with programmable knobs, rotary encoders, transport control, and drum pads. Plus it also works as a USB interface. I bet your MobilePre doesn't have drum pads.
