This video was prompted from a recent discussion in the CPF PH50 Main Thread which will hopefully help out member "Reflector" who is trying to diagnose his own PH50. I managed to capture the buzz or "whine" from the electronic ballast of my two Polarion HID lights. The amount of whine that you'll hear in the video is completely normal as is produced by all Polarion HID lights. In my experience all 35 watt and higher HID lights to produce some ballast noise but due to the fact that Polarions are instant strike and have a powerful boost phase the sound may be slightly more noticeable.

Various HID warm up times. This is the Polarion Crew Served Weapon Light (CSWL) Night Reaper, rated at 50W but it's actually a bit higher at around 55W. This light was designed and developed by retired Navy SEAL, Ken J. Good of Polarion USA who wrote many low light combative doctrines for military and police. He also wrote, A Law enforcements Officer's Guide to: The Strategies of Low-light engagements, outlining techniques used by many operators today.
