Sleek and tight ponytails were the trend at Aquilano Rimondi, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Elie Saab and Prada. Models like Ruby Aldridge and Siri Tolorod talked about the looks done by top hairstylists like Guido Palau, Orlando Pita, and Sam McKnight. Braids, both tight and loose, were the "IT" look for hair at Emilio Pucci and Viktor & Rolf on models like Alana Zimmer and Anna Selzneva. Luigi Murenu talked about how he created the undone braid at Viktor & Rolf. Straight hair was the look at Versace and Blumarine and Marni kept it natural thanks to hairstylist Paul Hanlon. One can't forget the beautiful chignons seen at No 21, Sonia Rykiel, and Alberta Ferretti, a modern couture bun at Rick Owens and a deconstructed goth messy bun at Fendi. Next, for makeup, fresh and young took precedence at Prada thanks to Pat McGrath, who also did the luxurious, but minimal makeup for Versace. Light pinks all over were prominent at No 21 and fresh creams on models like Candice Swanepoel at Elie Saab. Giambattista Valli's makeup by Val Garland was tomboyish with a contour and Balmain showcased Tom Pecheaux's stellar cosmetic looks including everything from thick mascara to lots of concealer on models like Carmen Kass and Constance Jablonski who make it look easy. Swanepoel was born in Mooi River, KwaZulu-Natal, and was spotted by a model scout in a Durban flea market at age 15. By age 16, Swanepoel was earning 5000 Euros or R40,000 for a day's work. Swanepoel's resume includes covers for Vogue (Greece), ELLE (Germany), and Ocean Drive (US) and advertisements for Nike, Diesel, Guess?, and Versus Eyewear. Swanepoel has walked the runway for Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce and Gabbana, Shiatzy Chen, Sass and Bide, Betsey Johnson, Diane von Fürstenberg and numerous other designers, as well as for Victoria's Secret in 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010. In addition to appearing in the lingerie brand's commercials, she was a featured model in the 2010 "SWIM" catalog, along with Lindsay Ellingson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Erin Heatherton. In 2010, Swanepoel became a Victoria's Secret Angel. Swanepoel modeled for the Kardashians' 2010 swimwear line. On August 12, 2010 Swanepoel officially opened the first Victoria's Secret retail store in Canada, at West Edmonton Mall, Edmonton, Alberta.
