The traditional Christmas carol "Coventry Carol" sung by the choir of Westminster Cathedral. The "Coventry Carol" is a Christmas carol dating from the 16th Century. The carol was performed in Coventry as part of a mystery play called The Pageant of the Shearmen and Tailors. The play depicts the Christmas story from chapter two in the Gospel of Matthew. The carol refers to the Massacre of the Innocents, in which Herod orders all male infants under the age of two in Bethlehem to be killed. The lyrics of this haunting carol represent a mother's lament for her doomed child. It is the only carol that has survived from this play. Wikipedia.

"Carol of the Old Ones" is a song originally published in the 1988 HPLHS Solstice Carol Songbook, released by the HP Lovecraft Historical Society. With lyrics written by Andrew Leman it is sung and performed to the tune of Carol of the Bells by Mykola Dmytrovych Leontovych (itself sung to the tune of Shchedryk), with soprano lead vocals and four-part harmony at various points in the song. The song is performed by The Dagon Tabernacle Choir; the performers' names are Rebecca Marcotte, Digby Dolmen, JD Titan, and Walter Forsythe. It can be found on the record A Very Scary Solstice. The song alludes to the Old Ones in HP Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos, although the exact context is never specified, as Lovecraft himself used several different contexts for the term Old Ones. The lyrics of the song carry several characteristics of Lovecraftian horror, such as the recurring concept of helplessness and hopelessness, with such lines as: They will reclaim all in their name; Hopes turn to black when they come back and Madness will reign, terror and pain Woes without end where they extend.

Carol Riddick began her career performing with local bands in Philadelphia. It was after her performance at a wedding that she met James Lassiter who managed Jeff Townes and Will Smith a/k/a "Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince". That introduction led to studio session work at Jeff Townes' production company, "A Touch of Jazz, Inc.". She began to tour with the duo, and was the featured vocalist at the wedding of Will Smith. Carol's local buzz quickly spread on a national level which resulted in her signing a recording contract with Motown Records. She received high acclaim from the dance single "Take Your Time", which was released in the United Kingdom. It received rave reviews and appeared on the charts for several weeks. She has written for and with a wide range of artists, including Terry Ellis of En Vogue. The song, "Tomorrow" which appeared on Terry's Debut CD "Southern Gal", was thought by many to be the crown jewel of the album.
