www.murad.pk Vasantrao Deshpande (Marathi: वसंतराव देशपांडे) (1920--1983) was a renowned Hindustani classical vocalist who was also a brilliant performer of Natya Sangeet. He had a unique style of singing which is still loved by many ardent fans. Vasantrao Deshpande was born in Murtijapur, District Akola, which belongs to Vidarbha region of State of Maharasthra, in India. He learned from several gurus, refusing to tie himself down to a single school of singing. His more famous gurus were Shankarrao Sapre of Nagpur, Sureshbabu Mane, Aman Ali Khan of Bhendibazaar gharana, and Ramkrishnabuwa Vaze. But the most important influence on him was Dinanath Mangeshkar, and Vasantrao was the sole true inheritor of Dinanath's mercurial style of singing. At the age of 8, Bhalji Pendharkar perceived his musical talent and launched him in the role of 'Krishna' in Hindi movie 'Kaliyamardan'. One of India's most illustrious classical vocalists, he performed classical and semi-classical music. In the raga form which constitutes classical music, the artist displays his creativity on a basic canvas. Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande's rendition of famous ragas like Marwa, Salag Waraali, Nat Bhairav, Kauns (in its various forms), Chhayanat, Basant Mukhari, Patamanjari, Jaijaiwanti, Janasammohini, Bhoop, Shree, Kalavati, Maru Bihag, and Yaman had a quality to them that kept people interested. Rana Chandar Singh (1931-2009) Pakistan Hindu Party founder passes away Karachi, Aug.2 ANI: Former federal minister and the chieftain of the Pakistani Hindu Sodha Thakur Rajput, and founder of the Pakistan Hindu Party, Rana Chander Singh passed away in a hospital here. He was 78. Singh was unwell ever since he had a paralytic attack in 2004. A close friend of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and former PrimeMinister Benazir Bhutto, Singh was elected to the National Assembly four times between 1980 to 1990. He parted ways with the PPP and formed his own party, the Pakistan Hindu Party (PHP) in 1990. Several political leaders, friends and relatives gathered at his residence in Karachi to bid farewell to the departed soul, The Daily Times reports. His full name was Krishan Chander Sharma, and he was a Kashmiri Brahmin by ethnic ancestry - however, he became a committed Communist in his youth, as many radical Indian writers & poets were in pre-partition India, and subsequently never used his caste name : Sharma, as his gesture of repudiating Class-Consciousness, and expressing solidarity with oppressed humanity. He wrote in the Urdu language mainly, but was well-versed in Hindi, and even contributed fieullitons in English to various newspapers.

Sorry for the awful playback! I originally had a harpsichord instead of chamber organ but decided a chamber organ sounded better. Unfortunately I couldn't find a sound for a chamber organ so I put recorders in instead (they sound similar!) Other movements hopefully will come soon. Hope you like!
