On August 29, 1970, a "Chicano Moratorium" against the war in Vietnam was held in East LA Loyola-Marymount film student Tom Myrdahl shot this documentary, capturing the events that unfolded as law enforcement and protesters clashed in and around Laguna Park. This film has not been seen in nearly 40 years. Tom, who is still a working cameraman in Los Angeles, is putting this historic film on the web as a tribute to the brave citizens of East LA who came together 40 years ago to voice their dissent against the Vietnam War.

El Chicano plays "El Grito" together for the first time in years, working out the kinks in the process. Original members of El Chicano included Bobby Espinosa, Freddie Sanchez, Mickey Lespron, Andre Baeza and John De Luna. During the 1970s, new members Ersi Arvizu, Rudy Regalado, Max Garduno, Danny Lamonte, Brian Magness, Jerry Salas, Joe Pereria and Rudy Salas joined the group. Two former members of the group died in 2010. The organist and co-founder Bobby Espinosa died in February 27 and was memorialized on March 20 by family members, fellow musicians and close friends.
