Three Refugees: To the Buddha I return and rely, vowing that all living beings understand the great way profoundly, and bring forth the bodhi mind. To the Dharma I return and rely, vowing that all living beings deeply enter the Sutra treasury, and have wisdom like the sea. To the Sangha I return and rely, vowing that all living beings form together a great assembly, one and all in harmony. Reverence to the assembly of sages! The Great Compassion Mantra is recited after the three refuges, and the merit of the recitation is offered to the Sangharama guardians. The nighttime spiritual food bestowal to pretas and all sentient beings are performed during the Great Compassion Mantra. (wikipedia) The weather was cold about 6 deg Celcius with thick fog that envelopes the island. The place is quiet and far from noise, a place soothing and relaxing. Went to a group tour and brought along my Canon g9 camera so all the videos were taken from Canon powershot g9. I should have brought my canon hv20 but since it was an impromptu trip, in a haste i forgot to bring. The only thing i didnt like about the place is the people, they have this bad habbit of pushing people and they dont listen to rules and regulations.

11th Panchen Lama gave a public speech at the second World Buddhism Forum in Wuxi, China

The Second World Buddhist Forum opened in the eastern Chinese city Wuxi Saturday with more than 1700 Buddhist monks and scholars from about 50 countries and regions gathering to discuss how Buddhism can contribute to building a harmonious world. The 11th Panchen Lama, Bainqen Erdini Qoigyijabu, delivered a speech in English at the forum, offering his views on building a harmonious world and urging people to do more good deeds and help others. "Sutras tell us: Good is rewarded with good, evil with evil. We should now guide and encourage people with the law of causality to serve others with good deeds," he said. "Only if we carry forward the philanthropic moral spirit, will everyone be guided to do good and not harm others; can everyone display love and mercy, benefit all sentient beings and protect the environment, so as to enable people to enjoy a harmonious and happy life," he said. He also called for achieving harmony among different Buddhist sects. "Different sects within Buddhism should respect each other and coexist in harmony," he said. "So Buddha Dharma can live on and flourish, we should foster more outstanding talent." The 19-year-old Panchen Lama also thanked the central government for its "kindly" concern for and "powerful" patronage of the forum. "This forum is convened in my country -- China, which has a Buddhist cultural tradition going back 2000 years. This event fully demonstrates that today's China enjoys social harmony, stability and religious freedom ...

Chinese Buddhist Morning Ceremony 佛教早課(5)

The morning ceremony is the first of the two important ceremonies (morning & evening) in Buddhist monastic life. The morning ceremony takes place before dawn when the environment is quiet and peaceful. This is an ideal time to clear the mind for cultivation and for reflection on the inner self. The ceremony consists of reciting the Incense Praise, the Shurangama Mantra, the Heart Sutra, the Buddha Praise & recitation of the Buddha's name, making the vows of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, taking refuge in the Triple Jewels, singing the Wei-Tuo Bodhisattva Praise and the Sri Maha Devi Dharani. Finally, the merit from the ceremony is returned to all living beings.

Mogoa ancient UFOs? Thousand Buddha Caves

www.unisonicascension.com The Mogao Caves, or Mogao Grottoes also known as the Caves of the Thousand Buddha's form a system of temples 25 km south-east of the center of Daunhuang, strategically located at a religious and cultural crossroads on the Silk Road in Gansu province, China. The caves contain some of the finest examples of Buddhist art spanning a period of 1000 years. Construction of the Buddhist cave shrines began in 366 AD as places to store scriptures and art. Some of the cave paintings, have what appear to be; depictions of ancient UFOs. According to Tang Dynasty records, a monk had witnessed on-site, a vision of thousand Buddhas, under showers of golden rays. Thus inspired, he started the caves construction work that spanned ten dynasties. Mogao means, high up in the desert. The Mogao Caves are some of the best known of the Chinese Buddhist grottoes and are a significant ancient sculptural site of China. The 492 cells and cave sanctuaries in Mogao became one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1987. Buddhism and UFOs is there a link? Many of the images above the Buddha's head look like UFOs. Some of the images also have flying Apsaras & celestial Nymphs, that were said to look out for the Buddha from above. As Buddhism is in actual fact an atheist spiritual philosophy, it makes sense to see Buddhism at least; as potentially a philosophy with extraterrestrial origins. Buddha 2.0: Echoes of the Past

On display through July 31, 2011 at the Freer and Sackler Galleries, the Smithsonian's Museums of Asian Art in Washington, DC "Echoes of the Past: The Buddhist Cave Temples of Xiangtangshan" Majestic sixth-century Chinese Buddhist sculpture is combined with 3-D imaging technology in this exploration of one of the most important groups of Buddhist devotional sites in early medieval China. Carved into the mountains of northern China, the Buddhist cave temples of Xiangtangshan (響堂山, pronounced "shahng-tahng-shahn") were the crowning cultural achievement of the Northern Qi dynasty (550--77 CE). Once home to a magnificent array of sculptures—monumental Buddhas, divine attendant figures, and crouching monsters framed by floral motifs—the limestone caves were severely damaged in the first half of the twentieth century, when their contents were chiseled away and offered for sale on the international art market. In "Echoes of the Past," ancient sculptural masterpieces are united with a set of innovative digital components, including a video installation that offers an immersive, kinetic re-creation of one of the largest stone temples. Touch screens and research kiosks offer more detailed information about the site and the themes explored in the exhibition. Who would have guessed that all along The treasure of his wisdom lies within your own mind? Great is the joy Great is the joy Great is the joy within my heart What you are is what you have done What you do, you will become Don't keep looking for what you never lost Turn the light around, take yourself across The sea of suffering is deep and wide A turn of the head is the other side The sea of suffering is deep and wide A turn of the head is the other side Great is the joy Great is the joy Great is the joy within my heart
