Rather than use two separate channels, you can achieve very nice sounds with just a single channel. INfact, i would go so far as to say that the single channel echo sound is one of the two most characteristic chip sounds, the other being the fast arpeggio. When you are done with this tutorial, try experimenting on your own, try the WAV channel, see what you can come up with.

All you need is Modplug Tracker, Notepad and Ace of Wav (you don't need the full version of ace of wav, the demo version will work just as well). This tutorial shows how to make basic chip sounds in Ace of Wav. This tutorial also covers how to make the chip sounds with notepad and how to load them into ModPlug tracker and hear them.
