Christian Scott, born March 31, 1983 in New Orleans, Louisiana is a Grammy Award nominated jazz trumpeter, composer and producer. He has been heralded by JazzTimes magazine as "the Architect of a new commercially viable fusion" and "Jazz's young style God." [1] The nephew of jazz alto saxophonist Donald Harrison,[2] since 2006 Scott has released four studio albums, and one live recording. The trumpeter is noted for his use of an unvoiced tone, which he calls his "whisper technique."

Christian is now today musically what Wynton Marsalis and Terence Blanchard were to the early 1980's or what Nicholas Payton was during the 1990's.Those trumpeters including Mr. Scott, have set and raised the bar on how jazz music is perceived as "America's Original Art-form," to how they and their contemporaries keep this music as innovative and fresh as this music continues to wane from the corporate and mainstream media. Scott's rash and bold approach to jazz music as it relates to the music in the past, present, and the future has been why many music fans keep coming to his shows as well as look forward to him making statements with his music. As a child growing up on New Orleans, Christian got the solid foundation of his culture and music via his mother and his uncle, the legendary Donald Harrison, on what his role is as a musician as well as a person of his diverse heritage. He incorporates a musical technique in this playing called the 'whisper technique.' It's when he manipulates and switches up his breathing pattern to produce a sound that is like a human voice.
