This is a day when people take time to view the moon. If there isn't a good moon that day then they will try to view some other time. Some people leave an offering to the moon as a way to ask for a good harvest. Seasonal items are left as well as a plate or tray of dango. We will make a chrysanthemum and some pampas grass to complete the decoration for this holiday. NOTE: I must apologize because part of my video disappeared somehow during editing. Chrysanthemum is the last of the so-called "four-gentlemen" in Chinese art. The four plants are used to depict the unfolding of the seasons through the year, the plum blossom for winter, the orchid for spring, the bamboo for summer, and the chrysanthemum for autumn. So now it is my time to do chrysanthemum again. I had a walk-in customer the other day who wants to buy the four hanging scrolls on my living room wall, which are NFS because it was difficult to get them up there.:-) So he commissioned me to reproduce them for him.
