The Last Train To Clarksville - The Monkees (Colgems Records) 1966, 45 rpm! A Direct Recording! Had this record since I was a little kid, always loved it! Rip Davy Jones! This was written by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart, a songwriting team who came up with many songs for the Monkees. They also wrote songs for Chubby Checker and Jay And The Americans. Boyce and Hart wrote this as a protest to the Vietnam War. They had to keep this quiet in order to get it recorded, but it is about a guy who gets drafted and goes to fight in the war. The train is taking him to an army base, and he knows he may die in Vietnam. At the end of the song he states, "I don't know if I'm ever coming home." Bobby Hart said of writing this song: "We were just looking for a name that sounded good. There's a little town in Northern Arizona I used to go through in the summer on the way to Oak Creek Canyon called Clarkdale. We were throwing out names, and when we got to Clarksdale, we thought Clarksville sounded even better. We didn't know it at the time, [but] there is an Air Force base near the town of Clarksville, Tennessee - which would have fit the bill fine for the story line. We couldn't be too direct with The Monkees. We couldn't really make a protest song out of it - we kind of snuck it in." Hart got the idea for the lyrics when he turned on the radio and heard the end of The Beatles' "Paperback Writer." He thought Paul McCartney was singing "Take the last train," and decided to use the line when <b>...</b>

Clarksville TN Home Nightmare
This is my home built by Christopher S.Blackwell and William E. Blackwell who at the time were representing themselves as licensed builders and a licensed business. The license listed on the TN state contractor's boards website,was their father William S. Blackwell who wasn't actively in the business (I didn't know this at the time). He was only renewing his license so the son's could use it, therefore, their father was falsifying documents required to send in to the state before he could renew his license. The only way he could provide the necessary financial statements to renew was by false documents and FRAUD? (If they fraud the state that means they did the same to the city of course and the IRS, because Chris and Eric couldn't legally file the homes built or their business on their taxes if they weren't a licensed business or licensed contractors (common sense right?). The state is very aware that it's the only way he could have done this, but they did nothing about it and I have 100's of email to prove it. The state fined the son's $1000 for building my home illegally but nothing for the other hundreds of homes built (see under disciplinarian actions on the states website for April 08 for their father and July 08 for the son's). The sons were going by Blackwell and Blackwell Construction at the time, state fined the father William S. Blackwell $3000 after pulling 3 permits under the son's names because the father name wasn't on them, resulting in fining him $1000 <b>...</b>

3/8/2011 Storm Chase - Clarksville, TX tornado
After leaving around 2pm, we blasted south and barely got in front of the dominant storm along the Red River. It produced a very rain wrapped tornado that was also confirmed by other chasers. We continued chasing the storm after it did damage in Clarksville, TX before returning to get more detailed damage shots right at sunset.
