Montreux Casino was built in 1881 and had modifications made to it in 1903. Throughout the twentieth century, the site played host to many great symphony orchestras and well-known conductors. By the late 1960s, jazz, blues and rock artists began to perform there. In 1967 the Casino became the venue for the Montreux Jazz Festival, which was the brainchild of music promoter Claude Nobs. The festival was held there annually and lasted for three days. The highlights of this era were Keith Jarrett, Jack DeJohnette, Bill Evans, Nina Simone, Jan Garbarek, and Ella Fitzgerald. Originally featuring almost exclusively jazz artists, in the 1970s the festival began broadening its scope, including blues, soul, and rock artists. Tom Waits - In the Colosseum

DISCLAIMER: I do not own the audio used in this video. The music is owned by Tom Waits and his record label. The song was ripped from the album "Bone Machine" which can be bought from any major music retailer - including those online. It is pure awesome and worth every penny - so you might as well buy it. Amateur music video for the Tom Waits song. The footage was filmed by me, mainly in the Colosseum in Rome. It is infact the exact same footage used in the "Everybody's Gonna Be Happy" video - but edited to fit the mood of this beautifully grim song better. The video was edited with Sony Vegas Platinum. The logo and name at the beginning is a reference to Stanley Kubrick's use of subliminal symbols and messages. I made this for my own enjoyment and to practice digital editing.

The Roman Colosseum Ampitheatre Ampitheater

The Colosseum, originally called the Flavian Amphitheatre, is an elliptical ampitheatre in Rome. It is the largest ever built in the Roman Empire and quite rightly known as the greatest example of Roman architecture and engineering. Occupying a site just east of the Roman Forum, construction started between AD 70 and 72 during the period of Vespasian and was completed in 80 AD in the reign of Titus

Seven Wonders of the world - Roman Coliseum

The Colosseum is an elliptical amphitheatre in the center of the city of Rome, Italy, the largest ever built in the Roman Empire. It is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and Roman engineering. Occupying a site just east of the Roman Forum, its construction started between 70 and 72 AD under the emperor Vespasian and was completed in 80 AD under Titus, with further modifications being made during Domitian's reign (8196). The name "Amphitheatrum Flavium" derives from both Vespasian's and Titus's family name (Flavius, from the gens Flavia). Capable of seating 50000 spectators, the Colosseum was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles. As well as the gladiatorial games, other public spectacles were held there, such as mock sea battles, animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Classical mythology. The building ceased to be used for entertainment in the early medieval era. It was later reused for such purposes as housing, workshops, quarters for a religious order, a fortress, a quarry, and a Christian shrine. Although in the 21st century it stays partially ruined because of damage caused by devastating earthquakes and stone-robbers, the Colosseum is an iconic symbol of Imperial Rome and its breakthrough achievements in earthquake engineering. It is one of Rome's most popular tourist attractions and still has close connections with the Roman Catholic Church, as each Good Friday the Pope leads a torchlit ...

1:1 Replica of Roman Colosseum in Minecraft Beta

Don't forget to add to your favourites! ;) Sorry we will not be giving a download link anytime soon or at all, It's still being worked on and will most likely be worked on for awhile. Its not just the Roman Coliseum but a majority of Rome that we are working on. Rastadogg, Laserpanda, and TheHANGOVER made this a bit ago, its been about 3 months since anyone worked on it. We kinda abandoned it when we started on the Circus Maximus (Far from finished) and then laser left us (to play other games). But here it is in all its (unfinished) glory a 1:1 scale replica of the Roman Coliseum (Colosseum, Flavian amphitheater, what ever suits you.) We made it; well I should say 'got to this point', in just 9 days. All Rasta and me and (hopefully) laser have to do is finish with the fine details. We need to add stairs from the ground floor to the second, stairs from the second floor to the third, need to do the barrel ceilings inside, add more entrances to the stands, o and build the Hypogeum (the basment). If you want to see the pics I took each day as sort of a 'builders log', read a 3 month old post, and see how bad I can spell, click the link below (its a old article in a now locked mega thread so you cant post in it.) Colosseum - Tanglewood (live)

Colosseum is a pioneering British progressive jazz-rock band mixing progressive rock and jazz-based improvising. The band was formed in 1968 by drummer Jon Hiseman, tenor sax player Dick Heckstall-Smith and bass player Tony Reeves, who had previously worked together in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers on the Bare Wires album. Dave Greenslade, on organ, was immediately recruited, and the line-up was completed by Jim Roche on guitar. Roche only recorded one track before being replaced by James Litherland, (guitar and vocals). Colosseum made their live debut in Newcastle and were promptly recorded by influential BBC Radio One DJ John Peel for his Top Gear Radio program. This appearance gained them valuable exposure and critical acclaim. Colosseum's first album, Those Who Are About To Die Salute You, was released by the Fontana label in 1969. Colosseum also played the "Super Session" program produced by BBC with Modern Jazz Quartet, Led Zeppelin, Jack Bruce, Roland Kirk Quartet, Eric Clapton, Steve Stills, and Juicy Lucy. Colosseum's second album, also in 1969, was Valentyne Suite, notable as the first release from Vertigo Records, the first label to sign heavy metal pioneers Black Sabbath. Vertigo Records was a branch of Philips, established to sign and develop artists that did not fit the main Philips Records brand. Dave "Clem" Clempson replaced James Litherland for the third album, The Grass Is Greener, released in 1970 and only in the United States. Louis Cennamo then replaced ...

After purifying all 48 pokemon in Pokemon Colosseum (for the Nintendo Gamecube) and completing 100 battles in Mt. Battle (in Battle Mode, not Story Mode), Ho-oh is obtained at level 70. The video shows a single battle, but Ho-oh can also be obtained in double battle. Colosseum of Venatum - Minecraft

For more of my MC projects, check out my planetminecraft account: www.planetminecraft.com The Venatum Colosseum by Sounas and Bodydrag on the Godcraft server. It took aprox. 2,5 months to build because of other side projects and because of the sheer volume of materials the Colosseum devoured on a daily basis. Me thinks it turned out pretty well! Credits to me (the designer) and Bodydrag (co designer and major builder), and many others, including (but not limited to): Skaramicke, Zweibaum, Sparven999, Crazyjokke, Cxhristian, Erupyon, Huts98 It is entirely accurate to the real Colosseum. Only have staircases been left out at certain points (they would have look really ugly), and does the Colosseum here have 70 outer arches on each ring instead of 80. The emperor seat also left much to my own imagination :) The size is aprox. 190 by 180 and it's 48 high. Track: ES Posthumus - Mosane Pi ES Posthumus - Isunova Pi

-WATCH IN HD- Thanks to Kevin and Logan for the ideas, and Kevin for doing all the actual crafting and the design. See below for the plans if you want to recreate. We just mined and screwed around to be honest. Thanks to /r/minecraft community for all the help and inspiration. This is on our private Minecraft SMP server. Took about a week to mine and build, and we have more that we would like to add. We mined it all from scratch, so it took longer but was more fun. We ended up terraforming a mountain next to our main base to clear the space, and it takes over 9000 blocks to construct. Well, probably over 9000.
