What's there to say about a classic? There has been no other shoe in history that has been more successful than Chuck Taylor All-Stars. With over 750 million pairs sold worldwide, you have a dizzying array of sizes, colors, and styles. Even though this is an old design, Chucks are incredibly comfortable even when compared to modern designs of shoes. It's one of the few styles where both men AND women look good wearing them. It's one of the few clothing items that look BETTER when worn and dirty. In my travels through The States, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia I've found people from all sorts of backgrounds who love these shoes. My own pair have been a constant companion and have proven to be both durable and comforting. If I had to name one thing that I didn't like about Chucks it would have to be the cost. For a 90+ year-old design made of rubber and canvas, Chucks are too expensive ($45+). Blame supply-and-demand and pop culture. No other clothing item will be as well represent in music, fashion, and film. Yet, even with the steep price tag, I'll probably keep buying them because they're so darn comfy and feel like, well, home... This video was shot with an Olympus 770SW.

A 16 year-old photographer from Portland, Oregon, Olivia Bee focuses on the confusion and chaos of high school life. Whether turning her camera on her world or herself, her images capture the raw honesty of youth along with an uncanny wisdom far beyond her years. "I'm really driven to capture the moments of teenage life," explains Olivia. "All that emotion can be poured into an image." From a homemade darkroom in her basement, Olivia develops inspired images of her friends, family and Oregonian surroundings. She took up drawing at a young age, which led her to attend more of an art-based middle school. According to Olivia, "I signed up for video production, but they gave me photography." The video to accompany the collaborative track "Didn't Know What Love Was" by Bernard Sumner, Hot Chip and Hot City presents the artists and their music with different visual techniques, body doubles, live shadows. And an ostrich and a monkey.
I took the storyboard sections from the teaser and an article that had a few black and white storyboard sections to compile this little thing. Enjoy! The songs played are a snippet of 'Do Ya Thing' (Gorillaz) and Dub Dumb (Gorillaz). I do not own anything apart from the time it took to put this together :3 EDIT: Okay there are a few questions that keep being asked. I will answer them here in case you are feeling a little confused. Plastic Beach the previous Gorillaz HQ was bombed by pirates and Murdoc told us that they were in Hawaii, but it seems Murdoc was making that up (probably to keep his enemies off their trail) and they are actually here at the new HQ (not sure how long that will last given the eviction notice) at 24 Wobble Street. 2D is obviously alright despite the whole whale thing, Russel is not seen as I could not find the story boards with him on them but he can be seen in the teaser (making of) video on the roof. Feel free to ask any more questions :) If your at a loss as to what 'Do Ya Thing' is I will explain. The Gorillaz have teamed up with converse to release a range of Jamie Hewlett styled shoes. More information can be found on the uk converse site. This is a new song that will be released on the 23.2.2012 and is to promote the converse range.
