Creedence Clearwater Revival: Cotton Fields

Creedence Clearwater Revival Cotton Fields Willy And The Poorboys Lyrics: When i was a little bitty baby My mama would rock me in the cradle, In them old cotton fields back home; It was down in louisiana, Just about a mile from texarkana, In them old cotton fields back home. Oh, when them cotton bolls get rotten You can't pick very much cotton, In them old cotton fields back home. It was down in louisiana, Just about a mile from texarkana, In them old cotton fields back home. When i was a little bitty baby My mama would rock me in the cradle, In them old cotton fields back home; It was down in louisiana, Just about a mile from texarkana, In them old cotton fields back home.

The Beach Boys - Cotton Fields (Single Version)

Dissatisfied with Brian Wilson's arrangement of Cotton Fields, Al Jardine later led the group to record a more folk-rock style version. The remake was recorded on August 15, 1969 with Orville "Red" Rhodes on steel pedal guitar. Released as the renamed "Cottonfields", this remake, while not a hit in the US, was a top ten song around the world in the Spring of 1970. Because of its popularity, it was placed on the foreign release of the group's Sunflower album.

The Beach Boys - Cotton Fields (The Cotton Song)

"Cotton Fields" is a song written by blues musician Huddie Ledbetter, better known as Lead Belly. It was also a #13 pop hit for The Highwaymen in 1961. The song mentions that the fields are "down in Louisiana, just about a mile from Texarkana". This is geographically impossible, as Texarkana is about 30 miles north of the Louisiana border. While the meaning of the name is clear -- a portmanteau of Texas and Arkansas, Louisiana represents the ANA in (TEX ARK ANA) -- the actual origin is that when surveyors first surveyed the land they thought that the city would also be on the border of Louisiana. American rock band The Beach Boys covered "Cotton Fields" in 1968. It was released on their 1969 album 20/20 with Al Jardine on lead vocals. The song was recorded on November 18, 1968. Dissatisfied with Brian Wilson's arrangement, Jardine later led the group to record a more country-rock style version. Released as "Cottonfields", this remake, while not a hit in the US, was a Top 10 song around the world in the spring and summer of 1970. It was the group's last single for Capitol Records and the last released in mono. While barely making a dent in the US (#95 Record World, #103 Billboard) though promoted with an appearance on the network TV pop show Something Else, the song succeeded across the Atlantic, reaching number two in the UK's Melody Maker chart and listed as the tenth biggest ...

棉花地裡的歌聲吳語平湖話The Songs of the Cotton Fields - Pinghu dialect of Wu Chinese

In the villages of Pinghu in Northern Zhejiang province, the villagers sing and recite old folk songs while gathering cotton in their cotton fields. To some, these folk songs are reminiscent of folk songs sung by many other ethnic groups in China, such as the Miao or Hmong people. Most of the locals speak the Pinghu dialect of Wu Chinese, and is among the close relatives of Shanghainese, such as Suzhou dialect. In Mandarin subtitles.
