LOUISIANA CREOLE FLAG

Pete Bergeron designed the Louisiana Creole flag in 1987 and, in 1995, the Lafayette-based organization CREOLE, Inc., a heritage preservation group, adopted the flag to represent the cultural and ethnic diversity of Creole Louisiana. Dolores Kay Conque, Bergeron's sister, hand-stitched the first Creole flag. The upper left section, a white fleur de lis on a blue field, represents Louisiana's French heritage. On the lower left and upper right sections, West African heritage is represented, respectively, by the flags of Mali and Senegal. Spanish colonial heritage is depicted by the Tower of Castille --- a gold tower on a red field --- positioned at the lower right section of the flag. A white cross dividing the four quadrants serves as a symbol of religion in the region. Historically, Louisiana Creoles share deep cultural and kinship ties not only with Mediterranean Europeans, West Africans and Native Americans, but, as well, with the people of Cuba and Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic).

Spoken Word in Belize - Creole "everyone fake"

FACEBOOK - www.facebook.com TWITTER - www.twitter.com AMAZON - www.amazon.com WEBSITE - www.angelagegg.com From within the pages of "The Light, The Dark and Everything In Between" http Belize is the ONLY English speaking country in central America and we are also closely related to the Caribbean. We speak a dialect of Creole in our country as well as Spanish. I SPEAK ALL THREE: ENGLISH, CREOLE & SPANISH ~~~~~ BUT some ppl trip on my Caribbean Nationality, but fuck it!!! I recited this poem as a rebuttal for some comments on my 100% Belizean where some chicks were trippin on the fact that i did most parts in ENGLISH, even though we speak English in Belize! Anyway here is a lil Creole Word for my homies!!! And by the way, any ignorant assholes wanting to leave racist remarks on this commentary and or channel will be blocked, i have no tolerance for racism!! Got it bitchesssss.. Elvis Presley - Trouble (Film King Creole)

Song by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller Excerpt from Film "King Creole" (1958) Directed by Michael Curtiz Hal Wallis, the producer, acquired the rights to Harold Robbins' novel "A Stone For Danny Fisher" with the intentions for it to be a non-musical vehicle starring either James Dean or Ben Gazzara. Following the death of Dean in 1955, the project was shelved. In January 1957, following the success of an Off-Broadway stage version of the story, Presley's name was suggested as a possible replacement. After negotiations were completed, the character of Fisher was changed from a boxer to a singer and the location was moved from New York to New Orleans. Michael Curtiz, a noted director during the golden era of the Hollywood studio system whose famous productions included The Adventures of Robin Hood in 1938, Yankee Doodle Dandy in 1942, and in the same year, Casablanca, was hired to helm the project. After seeing an early copy of the finished film Presley thanked Curtiz for giving him the opportunity to finally show people the potential he had as an actor. King Creole was said to have been Presley's favorite role of his entire career, and he had high hopes of returning from the army to pick up from where he had left off. However, despite being better received by the critics than his previous films, and ticket sales being very good, he never got the chance to be taken as seriously as an actor again.

Creole Belles Tuxedo Classic Jazz Band Recorded 1980

The Tuxedo Classic Jazz Band was founded in 1976 by Trombonist Dr. Warren "Bud" Trow. Bud, along with his brother Wes Trow, and manager/drummer Bob Hogan, and the band were all exponents of Traditional Jazz in New England. The TCJB played for 30 years all over the New England States. The 8-Piece Dixieland Revival ensemble played almost a dozen performances at the famed Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA. They also had the distinction of performing for the re-opening of the Hall. Other events where the Tuxedos were featured included the Down East Maine Jazz Festival, the New England (former Boston) Aquarium, the Worcester Art Museum, and Gazebos and town commons throughout the New England States. Bud Trow passed away in 2008, and left the entire band's library to Dan Gabel. Dan is forever grateful to Bud. "Bud was my mentor, my teacher, and my great friend. I will never forget all he did for me and for the music he loved so much" says Dan. Dan Gabel has plans to start a new ensemble to carry on the tradition of the great music from the Tuxedo Library, taking the bulk of the repertoire from the Lu Watters' book. This recording comes from the Tuxedo Classic Jazz Band's only album, recorded on LP in 1980 entitled "Happy Feet." Personnel includes: Bud Trow: Trombone, Founder, Leader, Arranger Bob Hogan: Drums, Band Manager Wes Trow: Clarinet, Soprano Sax, Arranger Lou Borelli: Trumpet Herb Maynard: Trumpet Harold Woodrow: Banjo Bob Long: Tuba The video is dedicated to Bud and Bob ...
