Salvatore "Toto" Cutugno (born July 7, 1943) is an Italian pop singer-songwriter and musician. Toto Cutugno was born in Fosdinovo, Tuscany, to a Sicilian father and a Tuscan mother. Shortly after his birth the family moved to La Spezia (Liguria). He began his musical career as a drummer, but later formed a band that performed his own songs. He also had cowritten for popular French-American singer Joe Dassin, contributing some of his most famous songs, including "L'été indien" ("Africa"), "Et si tu n'existais pas" and "Le Jardin du Luxembourg" (written with Vito Pallavicini).He also co-wrote Dalida's "Laissez moi danser" (Voglio l'anima"), which became a Platinum record shortly after its release. In 1976 Cutugno participated for the first time in the Sanremo Music Festival coming up with 3rd place with his band Albatros with the song, Volo 504. He then won in 1980 with the song "Solo noi", and again in 1983, with his smash hit, "L'Italiano", and subsequently finished second in six editions: in 1984 with the song "Serenata" ("Serenade"), in 1987 with "Figli" ("Sons" or "Children"), in 1988 with "Emozioni" ("Emotions"), in 1989 with the song "Le mamme" ("The Mamas"), in 1990 with Ray Charles with the song "Gli amori" ("Loves", but entitled "Good Love Gone Bad" in Charles' version) and in 2005 with Annalisa Minetti with the song "Come noi nessuno al <b>...</b>

Toto Cutugno - L'italiano. Questo è un video che avevo diversamente realizzato e pubblicato prima dei mondiali 2010. Dopo la delusione è passato un anno, ho modificato il video, concentrandomi sulla canzone, parafrasandola passo passo.... alla fine, mi sono chiesto qual'è il senso di questo video; ebbene.... di sensi ne avrebbe due: il primo è che è un video di uno della mia generazione (primi anni 60) ed italiano vero e che al di fuori di noi pochi possono capire. Il secondo è che l'italiano non è un politico, ne un industriale ne un aristocratico. Il vero italiano è un creativo e qua di creativi ve ne sono alcuni, solo alcuni.... perchè nel finale v'è un italiano vero? Vittorio De Sica.... si....chi più di lui.... E' un video piacevole e talvolta divertente. E' un video italiano, tutto. Lungi da me la politica, oggi siamo più che mai in crisi e la delusione non è stata solo il mondiale di calcio... vi sono altre delusioni che si stanno rivelando oltre che problemi, guai per noi. E' bene che ci diamo una mossa, dobbiamo stare uniti e non guardare ne a destra ne a sinistra. La politica è una gran farsa e nei secoli ci insegna che siamo sempre noi popolo a prenderla in quel posto. Ci vuole ben altro. E noi potremmo, col tempo, riuscire a cambiare il sistema, pur regolandolo e non cadendo nell'anarchia. Non è sbagliato guardare gli uomini piuttosto che i partiti. Ma bisogna che essi raggiungano immediatamente gli obiettivi richiesti e/o promessi al popolo o che se ne vadano <b>...</b>
