This is the behind the scenes video of the latest car & model feature to be published in Perth Street Car Magazine. Featured is Vince Belladonnas Holden Torana Top Doorslammer Drag Car with Miss Motorvation 2010; Samantha. Both of the shoots you see in this video, where I didnt use natural light I used only speedlights. I also didnt use any triggers I relied on the built in master/slave functionality of the canon speedlights. This was a test to see how they would hold up and they did suprisingly well. The only tricky part is you just need that line of sight to the flashes which posed a couple of problems here and there, but for the most part they held up pretty well for a critical shoot like this. I have done some other tests with the speedlights using up to 6 of them, and that info will be hitting the blog very soon. I would still highly recommend using wireless radio triggers for doing any shoots so you have that reliability and flexibility. Pocket wizards are great as we all know, but Im currently testing the Yongnuo RF-602s and they havent skipped a beat yet. More on those soon as well. NOTE: When shooting the model, my flash on the camera is firing, but it is only triggering the other flashes. It is set to off, so it is not contributing to the scene! My main light is the the white shoot-through umbrella.
