this was a tough one for me, worth recording even. my strategy was crude but effective, basically just going all out tank on him. im not the best player but this is a general idea of how to take down the four kings. A little bit of luck and a little bit of skill and we have ourselves a defeated boss :D
Upon entering the fog gate, climb the ladder to the right and take out the archers. Next, lure the demon down. Run back to the ladder. Jump onto his head and press R1 when he looks up. Roll between his legs and lure him away from the ladder. Roll back between his legs, and repeat the process. If he hits you on the ladder, it is unlikely to kill you if your health was full. Keep climbing. Don't wait too long on top of the ladder. He'll jump up and eat your face. Sometimes his tail will block you from going between his legs. Just roll around him as he pivots. Ranged can just dodge backwards away from his attack and snipe until he corners you, and then move through to the other side. You can also trick him into falling off the bridge where it is broken.
The Dragon King's Great Axe (竜王の大斧) requires 50 (!) Strength to use. You can reduce the amount of Str needed by holding it in two hands, but this is still ridiculous! You can get it by chopping off the dragon's tail... which is really easy. The first part of the commentary is live, but I really can't play and talk at the same time, so round 2 is retrospective. If your goal is victory at any cost, you can summon Soltaire. You have to have spoken to him before, and you must be in human form to summon. Focus on burning one down as quickly as you can so they can't tag-team you. Their HP is really low, so it isn't hard to do. A shield can block most of the damage from the fire. If you want the Axe (or two Axes), then you should try my strat of breaking your lock-on as the gargoyle moves. This will help you hit the tail like a BOSS. Jonvandamm of gamefaqs also reported good success with a large weapon's R2 attack. If you want two, just break the tail, get the axe, die, and do it again. As for the freeze... it's the only real complaint I have about the game so far. So for the poor commentary. I've been trying to push out vids, but other stuff is going on, too, and I'm tired as ffffffuuuuu- Next vid will start with some weapon demos, since a lot of people are asking for it. Sleep time now. Nito, the first of the dead. I was so glad this boss wasn't as hard as, say, the Four Kings, because getting there was a pain. After Pinwheel's encounter, all you could see was.. well nothing. The Tomb of the Giants is a cave with narrow ledges everywhere and giant skeletons kicking you off them. For some reason, I did not end up meeting Patches, the Hyena, the dickass thief from Demon's Souls. Good thing I didn't since I heard he would've kicked me down a pit. Somehow I made it through the darkness and found myself at Papa Nito's. Upon entering Nito's chamber, I was treated to some nice unavoidable fall damage, a blade in my bottom and a gang of skellies. There's probably more of those than any other kinds of regular enemies in this game. The fun thing is they can parry and riposte you as well as get up again and again unless you beat them down permanently using a Divine weapon. The key to winning here is to take down the first skeletons and not going to the back where Nito comes from as there are giant skelly-wellies there waiting to stomp you. Nito's sword swings can miss you entirely if you go in his face. He's not nearly as durable as many bosses before him and he certainly takes his time doing what he does. Surprisingly I didn't find any summon signs at the nearest bonfire or right before the entrance to the boss, nor did I get summoned myself for this. I felt a bit underwhelmed by this battle as Nito had been introduced in the first cutscene of the game as a Lord <b>...</b>

a very simple and yet somewhat difficult boss, first he has two orbs on either side, approach them and attack for his flame spirit to come out. then you are suppose to make your way in the middle and defeat the real body, reminded me much of FFX and Yu Yuven tbh. enjoy.

Dark Souls boss at the end of the Tomb of Giants. Nito is surprisingly easy if you just kill the 3 weak skeletons with a divine weapon and dont aggro the 3 big skeletons on the other side of the room. After that Nito just moves really slow and swings his sword and leaves himself wide open for a beating.
The final battle at the First Flame. After about 30 tries or so I finally beat Gwyn, the Lord of Sunlight (and Cinder apparently). To me he was the hardest boss in the entire game, but rightfully so. I found parrying to be the best way to put up a fight. For some reason unlike all other parryable enemies, Gwyn cannot be backstabbed. It made it that much harder. I was SL 70 in all the battles. The strategy was simply to parry his attacks with the Target Shield which has a larger window for parrying and riposte with Hornet's Ring and Lightning Zweihander +5 for five times, not taking any damage. The key to victory lies in the timing of the parry and being able to dodge Gwyn's swings and concentrate on his next move. It didn't go as well as my other runs, where I succeeded in doing just that four times without having to rely on Estus or even taking damage. However the fifth parry was always a failure and ended up getting me killed. I tried wearing Havel's set, Iron Flesh and spamming R1/parrying him, but not being able to do much I shortly quit doing that. Gwyn doesn't usually leave you any time to even consider drinking Estus or using Sorceries (which I had but were too weak to even tickle him), Pyromancies (casting time was too great) or Miracles (my Faith is 8 on this character). He is more aggressive than Flamelurker at low HP in Demon's Souls, more tough than Four Kings and hits harder than Smough's hammer. Dark Souls boss located at the end of the Demon Ruins. Pretty much used the same strat I used fighting the wolf. Aggro him to the door and try to get behind him or underneath him and pound away. Dont know how effective magic is on him. edit: If you get the Orange Charred Ring during the fight put it on and you will take very little damage while running around the hot lova. thx ahm317!

he is pretty easy, but his tail does not come off for me, im not sure why. maybe its the left tail? oh wells, as long as you stay in front of him and on the tail its easy, if you go behind him he does a devastating tail smash, you do not want to get hit by that.

The special roll comes from the DARK WOOD GRAIN RING. You get it by joining the forest hunters covenant and then killing Shiva's bodyguard. I used a Divine Estoc, an upgraded Club, an upgraded Heavy Crossbow, a Serpent Sword +5, a Drake Sword +2, a Lightning Battle Axe +2, an unupgraded Long Bow with Poison Arrows, upgraded Leather Armor, the Dark Wood Grain Ring, and the Ring of Favor. Oh and my shield was the Iron Ring Shield. I was SL 30.
