The new Thinix Flip utility allows Thinix Touch to automatically launch when flipped to tablet mode, and automatically changes back to Windows when placed in laptop mode. Today Acer announced when their Iconia Tab A500 is coming and what it will cost. It will cost just $450 when it arrives on April 24th. That's pretty cheap since it's very similar to the Xoom with a dual core Tegra 2 chip and a 10.1-inch display with Honeycomb. Dell's Panerai convertible tablet went through the FCC, it looks to be an improved 15-inch Dell Inspiron Duo. It has ABGN dual band WiFi and we don't know much more about it. But hopefully it will turn out good. We've already heard about the HTC Droid Incredible 2, but it looks like the release may be sooner than we expect. Today some press images of the Incredible 2 were leaked out, they show the phone with Android 2.2 Froyo which is different from the Gingerbread we were expecting. However, Dell's decided to have a go at the convertible again with the Inspiron Duo and answer the question of whether people should buy a netbook or tablet with, "have both". To drum up interest, Dell has used a brand-new method for the conversion process. Rather than having to swivel the screen 180-degrees before folding it flat against the keyboard, the Inspiron Duo has a far easier and cooler method: the screen spins in the bezel. Converting from netbook to tablet takes a couple of seconds, with strong magnets quickly locking the screen into place at both ends of the rotation. It works amazingly well and looks so different that if you do it in public you'll garner interested glances for sure. This system means that the 10.1in screen is fitted into a fairly wide bezel, making the Inspiron Duo roughly the same size as an 11.3in laptop. This really works in the laptop's favour, as there's more room underneath for a keyboard. With larger keys compared to other 10.1in netbooks, the Inspiron Duo is surprisingly easy and comfortable to type on. We found that we could get up a good speed without making any errors. All of the Chiclet-style keys are in the right place, too, bar the backslash, which sits underneath the Backspace key, although this doesn't take long to get used to. Once in the system, open Terminal (pres Fn+alt+F1 by default) and run 'sudo apt-get update' then 'sudo apt-get upgrade', once done, finally run 'sudo apt-get dist-upgrade' 2. Reboot the system, open Terminal again and run 'gksudo gedit /etc/default/grub' This will open a text file, find the line: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" and replace it with: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash i8042.noloop=1 usbhid.quirks=0x0eef:0x725e:0x40" Then click 'Save' and close gEdit. 3.
