Subscribe to To Your Health. TMJ sufferers experience high-intensity headaches, difficulty with chewing, painful joint clicking and popping, and other symptoms. With the progression of the pathology, individuals may even develop sleep disorders. TMJ Anatomy The TMJ is formed by the temporal and mandibular bones. Attached to the mandibular condyle is a fibrocartilage meniscus or articular disk, which allows the mandible to move smoothly. The masticatory muscles (temporalis, masseter, lateral pterygoid, and medial pterygoid) are responsible for movement and stabilization of the TMJ. Bruxism: Due to stress, people often develop bruxism. Bruxism is a pathological clenching and grinding of teeth that usually occurs during sleep. Bruxism is caused by the hyperactive contraction of the masticatory muscles. Imagine any other muscles in our support and movement system kept under tight contraction for seven hours. Borderline Personality Disorder

I can only speak for myself and from my experience and not for others, every BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) is similar but unique at the same time and it depends on many factors, grade, intensity and so on... so this video can't be applied to everybody and it's not my intention. Despite I'm not 100% ok at all and fully recovered I can say It's been a long fight and there's a very significant difference between how I was in the past (some years ago) and how I am now. I wish this could be of some help or consolation or something to those suffering from BPD and for those who want to try to know what is like despite it's very difficult to understand unless you have BPD Thanks for watching. Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a prolonged disturbance of personality function characterized by depth and variability of moods. The disorder typically involves unusual levels of instability in mood; "black and white" thinking, or "splitting"; chaotic and unstable interpersonal relationships, self-image, identity, and behaviour; as well as a disturbance in the individual's sense of self. In extreme cases, this disturbance in the sense of self can lead to periods of dissociation. These disturbances can have a pervasive negative impact on many or all of the psychosocial facets of life. This includes difficulties maintaining relationships in work, home and social settings. Attempted suicide and completed suicide are possible outcomes ...

It would be recommended those interested in learning more about the disorder(s), and/or getting counseling, check out the various websites: en.wikipedia.org www.dbtselfhelp.com www.psychologytoday.com www.halcyon.com www.borderlinepersonality.ca There are currently 10 conditions that are considered personality disorders, some of which have very little in common. Mental health professionals group those personality disorders that share characteristics into one of three clusters: Cluster A Personality Disorders are those considered to be marked by odd, eccentric behavior. Paranoid, Schizoid and Schizotypal Personality Disorders are in this category. Cluster B Personality Disorders are evidenced by dramatic, erratic behaviors and include Histrionic, Narcissistic, Antisocial and Borderline Personality Disorders. Cluster C Personality Disorders are distinguished by the anxious, fearful behavior commonly seen in Obsessive-Compulsive, Avoidant and Dependent Personality Disorders. Please do not confuse BPD/NPD, which both fit into a like cluster of signs and symptoms, with PTSD, or other disorders, a study I will be posting a separate video of signs and symptoms on. The Divided Mind (1-5) Fibromyalgia Pain Treatment - The Epidemic of Mindbody Disorders

Audiobook for $7.49: cli.gs "Dr. Sarno brilliantly explores the chasm between the conscious and unconscious minds, where psychosomatic ailments originate." (Mehmet Oz, MD, co-author of You: The Owner's Manual) Publisher's Summary The Divided Mind is the crowning achievement of Dr. John E. Sarno's long and successful career as a groundbreaking medical pioneer. While his earlier books dealt almost exclusively with musculoskeletal pain disorders, here Dr. Sarno addresses the entire spectrum of psychosomatic (mind-body) disorders. In Dr. Sarno's view, the crucial interaction between the reasonable, rational, ethical, moral conscious mind and the repressed feelings of emotional pain, hurt, sadness, and anger characteristic of the unconscious mind is the basis for many mind-body disorders. The Divided Mind traces the history of psychosomatic medicine, including Freud's crucial role as well as his failures. Most important, it describes the psychology of the human condition that is responsible for the broad range of psychosomatic illness. Dr. Sarno believes that the failure of medicine's practitioners to recognize and appropriately treat mind-body disorders has produced public health and economic problems of major proportions in the United States. One of the most interesting and important aspects of psychosomatic phenomena is the fact that knowledge and awareness of the process clearly have healing powers. Living with Bipolar Disorder - part 1

Courtesy of www.genericforyou.com - Patients talk about diagnosis and living with Bipolar Disorder. Bipolar disorder or manic-depressive disorder, which is also referred to as bipolar affective disorder or manic depression, is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a category of mood disorders defined by the presence of one or more episodes of abnormally elevated energy levels, cognition, and mood with or without one or more depressive episodes. The elevated moods are clinically referred to as mania or, if milder, hypomania. Individuals who experience manic episodes also commonly experience depressive episodes, or symptoms, or mixed episodes in which features of both mania and depression are present at the same time. These episodes are usually separated by periods of "normal" mood; but, in some individuals, depression and mania may rapidly alternate, which is known as rapid cycling. Extreme manic episodes can sometimes lead to such psychotic symptoms as delusions and hallucinations. The disorder has been subdivided into bipolar I, bipolar II, cyclothymia, and other types, based on the nature and severity of mood episodes experienced; the range is often described as the bipolar spectrum.

WE MOVE - Movement Disorders Mime Video

The Movement Disorders Mime Video was created by WE MOVE (Worldwide Education and Awareness for Movement Disorders, www.wemove.org) for the Life in Motion Movement Disorders Awareness Campaign (www.life-in-motion.org) in order to visually portray the symptoms of movement disorders and how these symptoms can disrupt a person's everyday life. The mime conveys the frustrations often felt by those challenged with a movement disorder and, through his expressive performance, depicts more effectively than words often can the communication barrier that makes it difficult for many patients to obtain timely, accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. The mime also uniquely portrays the feelings of embarrassment, frustration, discomfort and depression which are often associated with these chronic disorders. Of the thirty neurological disorders defined as movement disorders, the mime video highlights cervical (neck) dystonia, focal dystonia, spasmodic dysphonia, blepharospasm, restless legs syndrome, Parkinson's disease, multiple system atrophy, progressive supranuclear palsy, spasticity and essential tremor.
