The history of Vietnam begins around 2700 years ago. Successive dynasties based in China ruled Vietnam directly for most of the period from 207 BC until 938 when Vietnam regained its independence. Vietnam remained a tributary state to its larger neighbor China for much of its history but repelled invasions by the Chinese as well as three invasions by the Mongols between 1255 and 1285. Emperor Trần Nhân Tông later diplomatically submitted Vietnam to a tributary of the Yuan to avoid further conflicts. The independent period temporarily ended in the middle to late 19th century, when the country was colonized by France (see French Indochina). Nam tiến refers to the southward expansion of the territory of Vietnam from the 11th century to the mid-18th century. The territory of Vietnam was gradually expanded to the South from its original heartland in the Red River Delta. After nearly 700 years, Vietnam's territory was increased by three times and almost had the current shape.[1] The directon of expansion is determined as such because Annam, its name at that time, was surrounded by the sea to the East, by a moutaneous area to the West, and by a powerful country to the North, China. This Vietnamese "drive to the south" was no different than the German Drang nach Osten or the American Westward Expansion(17891849)

Probably one of the hardest missions on any AoE game, the best strategy is probably to just keep whittling them down, youll lose alot of soldiers and it will take awhile but sooner or later they crack, im not sure if destroying all their buildings outside the fort will prevent those annoying reinforcement spawns and its probably not worth the time to try to find out. Make sure you get the two cities on your side as they will be invaluable as distractions/support during your raids, (Note that if you wait too long to destroy the Ronin camp, the north village will be destroyed although the objective can still be completed). The woodcutter objective seemed to do precious little so is probably not worth your time, the farmer one is far more important and you can destroy most of the outer ring of enemy structures if you support them effectively. I would advise getting the Dutch consolate and bringing in a falconet in the 3rd age (your artillery is rather underwhelming compared to previous games).

Pretty easy mission, espically compared to the nightmare of the last one. Really only two things you need to do outside of building up your force (which you should be primarily training musketeers and archers with a few samurai in support). Firstly only take one village (either left or right hand, stay away from central). Any more than that and your army will be somewhat depleted. Next, go ahead and build the trade route to get you the very powerful merc samurai plus expierence reinforcements. Keep bringing in settlers to get more resources in addition to the ones you capture, getting to age 3 is VERY important for survival here. If you can reach level 3, take out 1 city, and establish a trade route, the final battle is simple, dont let them break down your gates and keep everyone behind the gates as best you can and its a rather simple finish. Dynasty Warriors 7 - Wu Mission 23 - Battle of Dongkou Part 1 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Player: Sun Quan.Mission Objectives: 1.) Defeat all enemy units. 2.) Sun Quan must survive.Head east and start engaging the enemy. After reaching the eastern side of the map, more Wei soldiers are arriving via ship to the north. You can choose to use the catapult to shoot down the ship, or just wait until the enemy arrives on short and deal with them on foot.More Wei ships approach from the western side. Head west and defeat the enemy units if they have landed, or you can choose the use the catapult if they are still on the ship.Head to the centre of the map and board the ship. The Wu fleet will start sailing north towards the Wei camp. Once your ship is close to shore, Zhang Liao will board your ship. Not all that hard although your multitasking abilities will be strained. There are only a few tips to keep in mind for this mission, firstly DO NOT EXPAND, you will continue to be hit from all directions as the game goes on even once you take down the barracks, keep your structures as close together as possible and when food/gold run out in your base (use shipments for wood) simply build rice paddies to keep resource flow going. Also do not bother with a barracks, instead opting for only a stable, and building only the melee camel unit, you can bring in additional calvary via shipment but the melee units are the best by far for this situation. You will probably want to bring in a few siege elephants also using shipments because you will contend with two castles as you destroy the barracks. Outside of smart division of forces and hotkey use (essential to effectively intercept units before they do anything) the only other tip here is to destroy the barracks directly behind you at the start of the game. It isnt crucial but it makes your life just alittle bit easier later and you should manage to do it easily.

Age of Empires 3 Asian Dynasties Act 2 Mission 2 Hard Mode Secondary Objectives Part 1 of 2
If you try to do this mission the way the game tells you to, you have no chance of winning on hard. What you must do is start by building all your nessicary structures while working to tech up as quickly as possible, dont waste any time making new troops (minus junks, you can begin clearing the Indian docks now if you so choose, 2-3 junks is more than enough for this), using resources only on buildings and 5 workers or so. You will be attacked early on by Indians sharing your island, kill them then move and destroy their barracks to the east, this should be manageable with your initial forces and any shipment cards you wish to bring. For the wonder to construct, build the 1000 food one because your goal here is to reach tech 4 as quickly as possible and getting alittle bit of an extra push is certainly helpful. While you are getting from tech 3 to 4 there isnt much to do, if youve already cleared out the barracks on your island you can pretty much sitback, I would hold reward cards you dont need for the more powerful age 4 shipments. Your age 4 wonder can be whatever you want, arqubusiers are an excellent choice and the free siege weapons will be helpful for the invasion. At tech 4, you need to build a monitor as quickly as possible, you will use this monitor to soften up their fortresses and units while you finish building up your units, remember that it has a long range attack to hit targets it cant even see, this is espically useful against the enemy town center <b>...</b>

The final Chinese campaign starts much like a less frustrating mission in AoE's original campaign. Longtime subs will remember that i pretty much spent that entire video's description ranting about the idiocy of that mission, but thankfully this part is much simpler (fighting off the patrols isnt hard and they dont alert an army, plus there is no damned health attrition), and you should have no problem finishing it. The second part is much more enjoyable, take your time building up your army, getting to age 4 and bringing in as many shipments as possible. Your wonders should be 1k food for age 3 advance, arquebusiers for age 4 advance (this is so you get the flying crow siege units which will be invaluable in the coming battle). Wait untill the enemy attacks you first before trying to move out, this will make them a bit weaker (its a substantial force), and hopefully give you an extra shipment point or two to use for backup, also dont forget to crank units out of your war centers at this time, you should have a stockpile of resources and you WILL need backup to breakthrough because the enemy has alot of reinforcements that it will spawn. Once you destroy the first town center, your in great shape. They will have used almost all their army, and their economy will be so crippled that, even if you dont have enough to finish them off right away, you should be able to quickly build up and finish them off. New civilizations Three new civilizations are added in Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties.[1] Each Asian civilization has monks, instead of explorers as in previous games.[2] There are six new native civilizations available for hire in The Asian Dynasties. They are the Sufis, the Shaolin, the Zen, the Udasi, the Bhakti, and the Jesuits.[2] * India — This civilization has no villager cards at the Home City, but they receive one villager with almost every shipment.[1] All villagers that are not shipped from the Home City cost wood instead of food. Villagers are also not allowed to harvest livestock for food, but instead can build a structure called a Sacred Field which generates experience points whenever livestock are tasked to it. Sepoys (Musketeers), Gurkha (Skirmishers) and Rajputs (much like Rodeleros) are the primary infantry units, and India has several types of camel and elephant cavalry. Both of India's Brahmin monks ride atop elephants and can heal other units from the start of the game. Their Home City is Delhi and their leader is Akbar the Great.[2] * China — The Chinese get only one explorer (A Shaolin monk) along with a weak disciple at the start of the game. Chinese monks and disciples have the ability to occasionally land critical hits, doing extra damage. The Chinese monk is the only hero who can train military units (disciples) during the Discovery Age and has the largest attack points compared to any other monk or <b>...</b>
