The 10 inch ASUS Slider is the brother to the popular Transformer tablet, however where the Transformer's keyboard is detachable, the Slider's keyboard is integrated and ready for use, so you'll never forget it. The half size keyboard keeps the tablet thin and is revealed when you pop the display upwards. With the display popped up, this gives a natural angle to work on, and the two modes can be interchanged at any time on the fly. Inside the Slider is the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core CPU, 1GB of memory and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. The storage can be expanded locally via the USB port or microSD slot on the sides and mini HDMI means it can connect up to any HDTV directly, without the need for an adapter. Like the Transformer the display is an IPS panel with 1280 x 800 pixels, and the OS is currently Android 3.1, although ASUS is committed to future updates as Google releases them. 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 provide internet connectivity in the launch model, with 3G versions arriving at a later date. With an accelerometer, gyroscope, digital compass and GPS built in it's perfect for taking out and about . With around a 9 hour battery life it should keep going all day, although it can be charged over USB if necessary. Despite the similarities the Slider and Transformer represent choice in design from ASUS, so you can get something that really fits your needs, rather than just a basic pad.

Asus Eee Slate: The first product, available later this month for $999 to $1099, is the Eee Slate, a conventional Tablet PC running Windows 7. Under the hood we've got Nvidia's new Tegra 3 quad core processor with 1GB or RAM and the option for a 32 or 64GB SSD along side some cloud based storage from ASUS Webstorage. The camera is significantly improved with an 8MP rear facing camera and a 1.2MP on the front with increased shutted speeds. The rear camera has a flash and features a large F2.4 aperture when most others have a smaller F2.8 which will improve field of depth. There are a bevy of connections available including a 2-in-1 audio jack, micro HDMI, Micro SD card reader, internal microphone and the dock offers an additional 1 USB 2.0 & a full size card reader. There are also a series of sensors including a G-Sensor, Gyroscope, E-compass, GPS & Light Sensor which presumably will be used to automatically gauge screen brightness. It also comes in two colours. We haven't been able to get our hands on the Champagne Gold, but we are told that its the more elegant of the two...which is hard to believe since the Grey was pretty stunning.
