Jasmine S34C Custom Mod!
Another video of my Electronics install is here: www.youtube.com I modified my S34C. It's been a great project and learning experience. I did a number of things. First and right out of the box, I pulled off the pick guard to ensure the maximum resonance. Then I installed a jjb-electronics dual-piezo transducer pickup under the bridge and installed the tone and volume knobs that came with. I ordered the End-Pin Jack configuration which was $8 more but worth it. However I had to get an Endpin Jack Wrench from Stewart-Macdonald for $25 (stewmac.com) to get it tight. But it was fun drilling holes in a guitar; plus I've used it on a few other guitars since. I then ordered rosewood knobs to match the bridge and fret board. www.guitarpartsresource.com It looks like it was meant to be. I oiled the whole guitar down (body and fretboard - front and back) with Dr. Duck's AxeWax to make sure the wood was in the best condition it could be in. Then I did the set up with help from www.greatnutshells.com. Awesome help. Thanks Kip! I bought the "Setup Your Takamine" DVD from Musicians Friend for $20. Then the fun part. I ordered the TUSQ Acoustic Supercharger Kit A (because it's the one that fits) which offers an unparalelled performance in nuts, saddles and bridgepins. The sustain is a noticable upgrade. To complete the project, I installed a TUSQ Nut. The Gibson Slotted Nut fits. This has been my project. It has been a fantastic learning experience and I am closer to my Jasmine S34C <b>...</b>

Blitzen Trapper - Man Who Would Speak True (Cover)
This is a song off Blitzen Trapper's new album Destroyer of the Void. I just love the gloomy theme in the lyrics, reminiscent of old American, southern songs. I think I've seen Eric Earley sing this on a video, with a capo on 7th, but I'm doing it on 5th to help me a bit with the singing range (since I need all the help I can get). Recorded through my Zoom H2 unit. It, and my guitar, are plugged into the Xenyx 802, then into the sound card. Recoded in Audacity, and the video in Windows Movie Maker. Hope you can enjoy.

Spoon - Agony of Laffitte (Cover)
This is a repost. Sorry, but I drank a substantial quantity of whiskey and decided that I hated how the other one had turned out. This song, I believe, is one of Spoon's "hidden gems". They released this long ago on a single (I think Wiki says 95) and then it came later on as a part of an EP as well, along with the song "Laffitte don't fail me now". I recorded the vocals and guitar through a Zoom H2 unit (only used as microphone), via a small mixer, into Audacity, while also recording the video into Windows Movie Maker. In addition, the guitar onboard preamp is recorded through the same mixer, to add some nice stereo. In Audacity, I added a dash of reverb. Drunk as I may be, I am happier with this one. Botched some strumming... gives it a personal feel ;)
