I think for the next flight I'm going to connect the rudder to the aileron channel and leave the ailerons flat... see how it goes. Should get a less twitchy result, but with the loss of full control.

Pilots this is my pre-flight test of the Bltz RC Works BH P-51D Mustang, my only trouble was a vert. stab. nut was incorrect, should have been M3, and they installed a M2.5, so you could not screw the vert stab in with both M3x50 screws. I just removed the plastic piece holding the nut and removed the M2.5 nut and replaced with M3, all good. The only other minor thing was the instruction booklet is useless! but its a great plane, and huge. If you're building this plane I would take care when inserting the wooden spar that holds the wings together, in hind sight I would apply a little paraffin and insert in each wing separately, then piece together, I almost broke my wing trying to force them together, so be careful!

Great looking plane but wing loading is high, battery compartment small and power is low. Hobby King claims this is "very 3D capable"? I guess that depends on your definition of 3D. Maybe something got lost in translation? I made some changes. I don't trust a jst connector on this motor so I switched to deans. I can think of no reason why you would need to screw in the horizontal stab. It only uses 1 screw so it allows it to move when using elevator. I just glued it in. Elevator and ailerons are not really "hinged". They just weren't fully separated during manufacturing. True hinges work better. Wheel pants were on backwards but easy to fix. Pushrods were setup for the LEAST amount of throw on both ends. I changed them to the largest amount. I removed some foam to allow the added throw for the aileron rods. Rudder wasn't glued on completely. And had to add quite a bit of weight to the nose for proper cg. Wasn't it heavy enough already? Esc has a servo extension on it that is very easy to unplug when inserting or pulling out a battery. Use a longer one to hide the connection further forward. And the Hobby King logos are not removable!! Ugh

Merry Christmas everyone. Note, the Box says 185. It is a misprint and should actuallly be called a 182. The company has made the changes. Two things I looked for this year, was a powered glider made from EPO foam, and a medium sized Cessna made from EPO foam. I like EPO (Expanded Poly Olefin) foam planes because they can take tremendous stress and impact with little effect, yet still remain light. So this is the Cessna from GravityHobby.com I chose, especially since it was in stock, and fit the bill perfectly. I know many other companies make Cessna's and I am sure you will all tell me about them, but this is the one I chose after much research. It is a very sweet flier with everything a person needs to fly nice aerobatics, but still maintaining the stability of a Cessna high wing. This high quality plane was worth the $119.00 to me, and is very pleasant to fly. The only thing I wish it had, was nose wheel steering and a harder motor mainshaft for those "Tipovers" on the grass or SNOW landings. It is easy to straighten them, though!
