Prime Minister David Cameron clashed with Labour leader Ed Miliband on the ongoing phone-hacking scandal at Prime Minister's Questions on 13 July 2011. Mr Miliband called on the PM to take action against his chief of staff, Ed Llewellyn, after Mr Cameron said that allegations connecting former No 10 communications chief Andy Coulson with illegal activity during his tenure as News of the World editor were handed to Mr Llewellyn but not passed on to him. The prime minister told MPs that Mr Coulson had assured him that the allegations were false, adding that Mr Coulson had provided similar assurances to the police. If this proved to be inaccurate then he "should be prosecuted", the PM declared. The opposition leader described it as an "insult" to murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler's family that Rebekah Brooks was still in her job, and said it would be "quite wrong" for News Corporation's proposed takeover of BSkyB to go ahead. Mr Cameron agreed that Mrs Brooks' resignation offer should have been accepted, and urged News Corp executives to "stop worrying about mergers and sort out the mess they <b>...</b>

Ed Miliband, one year on (27Sep11)

Edward Samuel Miliband (born 24 December 1969)[1] is a British Labour Party politician, currently the Leader of the Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for the South Yorkshire constituency of Doncaster North since 2005 and served in the Cabinet from 2007 to 2010 under Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Born in London, Miliband graduated from the University of Oxford and the London School of Economics, becoming first a television journalist and then a Labour Party researcher, before rising to become one of Chancellor Gordon Brown's confidants and Chairman of HM Treasury's Council of Economic Advisers. As Prime Minister, Gordon Brown appointed Miliband as Minister for the Cabinet Office and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster on 28 June 2007. He was subsequently promoted to the new post of Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, a position he held from 3 October 2008 to 12 May 2010. On 25 September 2010, he was elected Leader of the Labour Party.
