Dual motor e-bike reaching very fast speed of 47-48 mph in minimal space. Bicycle as seen is running at 5600W with 2WD. This bike does come with the option of running at 8000W or 5600W. We chose 5600W because we felt 8000W is not needed and just spins the tires needlessly and also puts added stress on components. The pull is quite amazing on this thing. This particular video is the first impressions of our first ride. The space we ran it is just slightly downhill but also around a bend so there is less than 350 feet to really get on the throttle. Later testing on flat ground yielded 50 MPH on GPS and Radar! Total system weight ready to ride is only 65 lbs! Climbing up the Third Steepest Street in the World, 2nd Steepest in the United States! The only other steeper paved streets are 1) Canton Street- PA and 2) Baldwin Street- New Zealand. Canton Street's maximum gradient is for a very short distance, so this climb is a better showcase of the power of these bikes. As you can see, the hill could be climbed at a high rate of speed and was even conquered from a dead stop. The Average Grade on Eldred Street is 33%+ and is a daunting climb. Over christmas I gathered a few bits that I had knocking around and came up with this bicycle pusher. Originally I was going to make an electric scooter, but I didn't have anything lying around to make the front end so instead I thought I would attach it to my mountain bike! Power comes from a pair of 4000mAh 5S 40C (37V) Zippy batteries through a 200A ESC driving a Turnigy 80-85 170KV outrunner. There is a centrifugal clutch that transmits the power via a chain to the pusher wheel. These initial tests are promising and there is sufficient power to accelerate my 280lb frame from a standstill. As it is a bit icy outside my nerve gave way at 20mph, but there is way more to come! I need to figure out how to get more traction though as at the moment there is more than enough power to spin the pusher wheel! This wont be a problem if I can get the system working with a scooter as my weight will provide more than enough pressure on the rear wheel.

This is the Greyborg hub motor aka, Hubzilla aka Cromotor as talked about on www.endless-sphere.com This is one of the most powerful hub motors you can install into a bicycle frame. I have mine installed into a 20" BMX wheel and run a Pirelli ML75 tire which is about 21" in diameter. Setup runs a max of 126V@100A through a Lyen made Xie Chang 150V 18 FET controller that uses IRFB4115 FETs. My controller has been heavily modified from the way it was received form Lyen to allow me to run such high currents. Bike frame is an all steel Kent kids full suspension mountain bike frame with upgraded components and custom fab work such as the 8" lengthened swing arm. Brake are Hayes Strokers front and rear with 203mm discs. Front fork is a 4" travel 26" RST fork with adjustable compression and preload, rear shock is a 140mm Cane Creek Cloud 9 air shock. Bike is missing it's chain because I need to install the correct crank set which is 48T front 16T rear. Not sure if I'll keep it single speed or use the triple chain ring setup in the front.

The beginning of a new Rural Roads with Roger, and the building of my first electric (battery) powered bicycle... Here is what it took to convert a mountain bike to electric using an "electric bike conversion kit" - the BD36. There were issues. The hub motor was too wide for one bike, and the drive shaft bolt was to big for three bikes so the bike fork mounting slot required filing. Other than that it went together fairly easily... athough not a task for novices with few mechanical skills. I love this bike. Only does about 30kmh (20mph) but works great. You get around 100 kilometres (60 miles) to every battery charge, which only costs $1. That's about 1c per kilometre. As it's under 200 watts (about 199) you don't need a license to ride it
